iOS: Siri no longer able to find offline stations

It does not work for me either. I am on the latest iOS, on the latest edition of Pandora, and have done the troubleshooting steps. I have two problems. One is that when offline, my phone skips songs on my playlist and will not let me go back to them. Another is that when I tell Siri to play any song or playlist when offline, it used to work before iOS 18, and now it tells me, “You need to be online to do that.” If I tell Siri to open Pandora (a primary step in working around this inconvenience), even if I previously had it open, it tells me that I have to unlock my iPhone first. I then have to turn on voice control and command my phone to “tap #, tap #, tap #, tap #, tap #, tap #” in a spaced out and rather vociferous manner (this is not SiriusXM’s fault), which of course informs any people in stopped cars next to me of my password. If I do not have Siri execute another request very soon after unlocking my iPhone, it locks itself (I could fix this issue, that the amount of time that it takes to automatically lock my iPhone is quite small, but it would not fix the plethora of other issues present, and I like the automatic locking feature to be the way that I have it configured). Another thing is that when I used to formulate a request for Siri, even if I did not tell it the exact name of my playlist, I am nearly certain that it was capable of understanding what I meant and would play the right song or playlist on Pandora, even offline. Now when I do this, it needs exact pronunciations, wordings, exact emoji names (if there were any emojis in my playlist name or song title), or it refuses to, and sometimes, despite the aforementioned prerequisites not being mandated for the request, still refuses to work at all. It is quite infuriating to attempt to utilize such a simple speech recognition tool on my phone to play music on the Pandora app, especially when Pandora refuses to play songs on my playlist when offline just because it feels like it or just because of inadequately crafted code—even if it is only inadequately crafted code in respect to handling memory pointers on a dwindling phone storage amount (this should not be an issue for a $27.2 billion company like SiriusXM)—for which this skipping of my favorite song mandates another or an original request—an original request if I had manually started playing music through the Pandora app, after remembering to enter offline mode, and then started my car, instead of starting my car, driving, and then requesting that Siri plays the music I have downloaded, instead of being on a long road trip and needing another song or playlist to prevent the painstaking boredom resulting from monotony, or instead of being forced to play a different favored playlist or song when Pandora glitches and refuses to play the songs I have placed in my downloaded playlist, just because it is a poorly designed app—a request to Siri, to replace what is being played with another playlist or a song. Pandora, you need to get your act together. I hope that you fix the issues that have prevailed for years and years, or that your number of users slowly trickles away until you are left with utter misfortune and despair because you ignored the voice of the people.

Hi @ThadH , can you tell me more about  this?

These issues only happen when offline correct?

Also, I understand that you already tried some troubleshooting steps. Can you tell me about the steps you tried?

Did you tried to uninstall and re-install?

Also, I'd recommend signing out of the app and signing back in, which will reset the download process. Then, make sure to keep Pandora in the foreground of your device while the download completes.

If you continue to have trouble, check the download icon for the content you are attempting to download. The two rotating arrows indicate that the content is still in the download process and the highlighted downward pointing arrow means the content has successfully downloaded.

If the icon is not highlighted, try downloading the content again and keep the app in the foreground while the offline music downloads. Keep in mind that stations and large playlists take a longer time to download.

Lastly, if you are having trouble downloading stations, try downloading a single track for offline listening to see if that works.

If you already tried these steps, please let me know.

Hello.

These issues only happen when offline. I did try uninstalling and reinstalling. I tried every step (I’m almost completely certain of this, and I’m also nearly certain that the only reason Pandora forces the telling of people to go through the troubleshooting steps is that they want people to waste so much time that they give up, and then Pandora doesn’t have to actually solve the original issue). I’ve already signed out and signed back in multiple times, having to redownload my music. I have already tried these steps.

Hi @ThadH

Thanks for providing that info and for trying the troubleshooting steps.

I've passed this along to the appropriate parties for further investigation. We'll follow up with you if we need any additional details.

Thanks for your patience in the meantime!
