The key is that you actually have to cancel. You can't say. " If you don't bring this back I'm going to cancel.". People have been saying that for 2 years now and here we are..

There won't be a year in review this year. So if you say that you're going to cancel if there isn't going to be one, you just need to cancel. People have been saying they were going to cancel for the last 2 years if it's not brought back and here we are. Here's the thing, if they bring it back you can always start using it again. But the only way you're going to send a real message is to cancel your Pandora subscription and tell them you're going to Spotify because of wrapped.

This thread is 2 years old. I always know my Spotify wrap is coming because about 2 weeks before the end of December, people start posting in this thread asking if The Pandora version is going to come back. When they made the change for Pandora, they didn't tell anyone and have never acknowledged The removal of it. So I had put my money where my mouth is and joined Spotify the following month and canceled my family Pandora subscription which I had had for 10 years. Spotify has been awesome. There's a little bit of a learning curve because Spotify is more about you picking the music you want to listen to versus Pandora curating it based on genres and styles (Spotify will add music to your playlists after you establish what it is you want to listen to). I'd use Pandora again if they would bring this back, but it's a matter of principle at this time.

@hrchatel They won't bring it back. We went through this last year and I was exactly where you were. I went ahead and canceled my Pandora and took the 3 months of Spotify. I was hoping that enough of us would cancel that they would actually do something, but they did not. And here we are again. I'm only responding to this because it's still set up to send me notifications as this was created last year. Spotify has been great these last 12 months, and I loved my end of year review. It is not a big deal at all to recreate the playlists I had accumulated through 10 years of Pandora.

@Vice Honestly I felt the same way. Basically a decade of playlists and thumbs up radio. After waiting a month last year I switched to Spotify and their algorithm is very good for creating or recreating playlists. Similar to how you select an artist with Pandora and it generates a list, Spotify also has you picking songs in artists, but rather than generate the list for you, it will suggest songs that you should choose to add by clicking the plus next to them. I was able to very easily recreate my current favorite playlists at the time, and and then was able to rebuild the others at my leisure. My 2023 wrapped was fantastic in Spotify. Pandora used to generate a playlist of about 20 or so songs, whereas my 2023 playlist that was created as part of the wrapped process is almost 9 hours long. I particularly liked the pre-recorded Thank you videos from artists where you were thanked for being a top listener. They even give discounts to merch stores for being top listeners.

@Sbck That is exactly what they are hoping. You'll express some irritation now, but continue to pay them. Then next year when they once again have not brought back the year interview, you'll find yourself in the exact same spot. Last at this time I gave them a few weeks to see if they would make announcement. It was coming back, and when they did not I canceled my premium membership and joined Spotify. I just received my year interview from Spotify and it was awesome. The only reason I'm replying is because I was posting here last year and have started getting notifications of new people complaining in this thread.

All of the people talking about dropping Pandora unless they bring this back, you should be aware that they have no intention of bringing it back and are counting on listener complacency. Basically that you'll be bothered for a little bit, and then forget about it and continue to pay for their service (or use the free one and listen to the ads). I was where you were this time last year, and after waiting about a month I put my money where my mouth is and canceled my almost 10-year premium subscription to Pandora and signed up for Spotify. It's easy to recreate your playlists, and the experience has otherwise been a seamless transition. I just received my Spotify 2023 wrap up and it was fantastic. The is because I was still apparently set up to receive notifications from last year

By coincidence, after I respond to this thread earlier this morning, Spotify wrapped came out for me, and omg it was glorious. Animations, the whole thing given a soundtrack by the top songs i listen to, and because I was in the 0.05% of top listeners for one particular band, there was even a pre-recorded video from some of them thanking me (obviously not personalized, but still it was pretty cool)

I guess I'm still following this thread. I switched to Spotify last year because Pandora removed the feature. I couldn't be happier. The main difference between Pandora and Spotify is that Pandora will push new music on you, whereas Spotify will basically follow the songs and genres that you tell it to. I switched my Pandora family plan to Spotify and never looked back

Yeah, I posted a month ago asking what was going on, and there's been nothing but silence. Now, a month later, I've given up and have cancelled my Family Premium prescription. I've been a member for years. I started using Spotify in this time and their offer of 3-free months of premium has been great.

If you're like me and are ready to switch, Spotify is offering three free premium months as a trial right now. I switched to using Spotify exclusively last week, but I will give Pandora until the first week of January to realize their error and put out the 2022 stats. Otherwise I will be downgrading back to a free account and will no longer be paying for my family membership.

This feature needs to come back. I've been paying for the family plan for years, but hearing that the end of year recap has been removed without any announcement or reasons given why (let alone any that would make sense), has me ready to fully switch to Spotify.
