I am connecting wirelessly to my car. I have auto play, auto start, and enable launch from car all enabled. When I start the car, it shows the CarPlay window. Pandora does not start playing. I have to select the Pandora app and it will start playing sometimes rarely. I then touch Now Playing and it is in paused mode - rarely if I hit the arrow, it will start. I usually have to dig out my phone open the Pandora app and start playing. After I do this, if I leave the car and come back 90% of the time it will start playing without intervention. When it is in its paused state, if I switch to another app and then come back, it still will not start playing. If you need any other info, let me know. Hopefully this can be resolved and hopefully iOS 26 won't totally fudge it up.

Had a problem back in Nov/Dec of 2024 with iOS 18 and CarPlay not auto starting music and Now Playing among other things not working correctly. Pandora finally came up with an update that fixed some of the issues. After my iPhone 15 updated to iOS 18.6x Pandora no longer starts playing my music. It acts as though it is paused, but trying to start the play from the cars screen does not start the music. I have to physically start the music from the iPhones screen. It plays through the car without issue. I have verified that auto play is turned on in the iPhone settings. Have deleted Pandora and reinstalled on iPhone. No help! However, if I select another music service such as LiveOne or Jazz Groove, they don't have this issue. Once again Pandora support, another issue with iOS 26 just around the corner. If another service would offer a shuffle between genres, I would say bye bye to Pandora. Open for suggestions. This is on a bimmer with i9 os.

Been there, done that, nada. In desperation I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the newest Pandora app and have upgraded to 18.2 iOS, results are not changed. Still the same. It is a Pandora issue.

Gave the new app 2411.1 a good testing today and here are the remaining deficiencies: - The Pandora app is supposed to connect with the 'Now Playing' app in the Apple CarPlay. Which will open and load the Pandora app and start playing music and open the Pandora interface in the main screen. This is not the case! The music DOES start playing, but the Pandora app does not open and get placed into the main screen. You either have to tap on the Now Playing icon, or the Pandora app icon to physically open the app into the screen. Even when this is done manually, and the app opens into the main screen, it still does not show what is playing. You have to select the Shuffle Tile (if using) or whatever channel you are playing to have the app show what is playing. - Another item. If you do not select the Now Playing icon or the Pandora app icon in CarPlay, after about 10 minutes, the music just stops and you have to reload the Pandora app. This is using an iPhone 15 with iOS 18.1.1 on a 2022 BMW X1 with version 7 of the BMW OS. I really don't think that engineering/management at Pandora actually reads or knows anything about this forum. It's not like the moderator actually does their job. My suggestion, flood the support email address with emails about the compatibility issues.

Went into settings, CarPlay, selected vehicle, then customize. Tried moving to the Pandora app up on the list to the top hoping that it might make a difference- nada, bupkis. Then did a forget this car and reloaded/paired with the car - SOS. Worth a try 😞

One would think that if the moderator was doing their job that A. Would give engineering/management feedback from this forum because we believe them to be in a vacuum and B. Give the users of this forum feedback from engineering/management because we are in a vacuum!

You're correct, this is nothing WE should have to do. They took a perfectly functioning app and reduced to a limping app from 10 years ago technology. In my state, we have distracted driving laws, and fiddling with my phone while driving is NOT an option. So, my family plan is coming up for renewal. Pandora has not done diddly to help the users and has not even fessed up to the issue. Therefore, have not offered any compensation for the pain and suffering - kinda makes my mind up on renewal! Ditto - starting to smell like another Sonos app fiasco. Appease the customer a little, and hope the complaints go away or the customer gives up. Keep filling out the support tickets and flood social media with the issues!
