Apparently there is no hope that Pandora will implement this idea even though it would be welcome by most users.  I emailed them today about this and their reply pointed me to this thread which is now approaching 7 years old.  I suspect that Pandora pays less for alternate tracks than they do for the studio versions so this is a financial decision on their part and not a decision on what's best for the listener.  It's too bad.  Pandora is a near perfect music source for me but having to constantly thumb down alternate versions of songs is tiresome. ...
