Music is sacred. AI slop should never be placed with mainstream human-made music ever. Musicians take years to learn an instrument, hone their craft of songwriting, cultivate the love for music, and understand their emotions, all channeled into a piece of music shared with other humans who may have experienced the same thing. AI experiences nothing, no emotions, no love—nothing—and is being fed music written by artists that never gave their permission to train some AI model in the first place. Musicians/songwriters/performers already struggle to get fair pay for their work, and to have AI slop music of no effort or skill saturating the mainstream is a NO. I'm proud of other platforms like Deezer -- actively combats AI "slop" and fraud by automatically flagging fully synthetic tracks, demonetizing up to 85% of fraudulent streams, and entirely excluding synthetic songs from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists. Deezer released a free AI music detector that lets users import playlists from Spotify, Apple Music, or Tidal to scan them for synthetic music. Maybe Pandora should start using this? ... View more
