I don't want to pretend like AI in music is completely unacceptable to me; personally, I have no ethical, spiritual, or philosophical objection to it. My issue is that every time I notice AI in a song, it's bad. In fact, I'm noticing the AI BECAUSE the music is bad, usually in some way that's exclusive to AI. I've probably enjoyed some music that used AI, or maybe even music that was entirely composed by AI, but every time I notice AI, it immediately takes me out of the song, and I'd rather never hear an AI song I might like than have to deal with weeding out the torrent of **ahem** AI songs that will inevitably be pouring into my feed in the future. My preference here would be that music made with AI - where some or all of the audio components are AI generated - is strictly designated, and that any song that uses AI should be marked as such. And then I'd like the option to automatically block any track that uses AI for any of the instrumentals or vocals from appearing in my playlist. For anyone who doesn't care about AI, this would change nothing, and for everyone else, it would improve the experience on the platform. The goal should be to allow the user to tailor their experience. I think it's perfectly reasonable for people to want to avoid AI music, whether that's because AI music tends to suck, or because of some moral or philosophical consideration; people should be allowed to choose what they listen to.
