I'm having the exact same issue. Pandora used to play automatically upon Android Auto startup and now it just sits there until I tap on it and go through the menus to start playing. This started one to two months ago. If I leave the car for a few minutes and come back, it'll start up automatically but if I leave it overnight or for a more extended period of time, it will not start automatically. I have all of the requisite settings set correctly, including giving Pandora battery permission to run in the background.  The phone is a Pixel 9 Pro. The car is a 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5. It looks like Pandora support has abandoned us but I'm choosing to post in here anyway to encourage as many other people with this problem to post also.
