Pandora obviously doesn't GAF about their user interface. One of your requests is here, approaching its 5 year anniversary, with 11 pages (~110 comments) and 290 ❤ of people supporting it (including some moderators!)... and 🦗 from Pandora on this simple feature.

@sbrennan823 right now the best workaround is probably to set your default music service provider in Alexa to Amazon Music instead of Pandora. You'll still at least be able to listen to Pandora (e.g. "Alexa, ask Pandora to play [name] station/artist/etc"), but if someone just says "Alexa, play blah blah blah" it will try to play it off Amazon Music. Of course that doesn't stop your idiot guests from saying "Alexa, ask Pandora to play blah blah blah" (at which point it'll happily create the 937th station for blah blah blah) but it might at least reduce it. I went through the insane frustration of purging the spurious stations after changing this, and it's made Pandora significantly more usable for me. I'd still like to see this fixed (and would also like to see a "bulk delete" option in station management), but it's better than nothing.

LOL even back in the days when dinosaurs roamed the internet, any public site worth its salt let users set their profile pics without some silly arbitrary social media integration. Why not at least support Gravatars?

@Jazzlynn172005 that's the problem, there isn't one. You have to go to https://www.pandora.com/settings/info and link your FB account, then it uses your FB profile pic (which is exactly what I don't want)

@MsDimples it's 100% not possible, that's what this thread is about. Pandora needs to get their act together and let people add pictures without linking with Facebook. This suggestion is now two years old and has almost 100 ♥, and evidently still hasn't even been considered.

Just for anyone who's responded here but hasn't liked the suggestion, be sure to scroll to the top and hit the 🤍 button! (it will be a filled blue heart 💙 when you've liked it, if it's white, click it). I'm pretty sure this is the primary metric Pandora goes by when looking at what's most popular.

Yes, requiring a social media account connection for anything other than sharing platform-specific relevant stuff (like sharing your station on FB, or checking out the stations of a FB friend) is ridiculous and a terrible design decision. I'm tolerating this at the moment but I'm not happy about it, and further attempts to "integrate" with any social media will push me closer canceling my subscription that I've had for 10+ years (my email shows I first upgraded on Jun 4 2009 at 4:42 PM).

@k000 they're still "gathering interest", despite the fact that this has been open over a year and is the third most upvoted feature request 😔

Over 80 posts, 142 likes, and a year to "gauge interest"; it's in the top 5 most liked feature requests. Can someone @Pandora commit to this already? Please?

I would bet money that @Eighthnote74 is simply generically asking Alexa to "play music", or perhaps requesting a specific song/artist/genre, and Alexa/Pandora are creating unwanted stations for each request. For example, if you say "Alexa, play Smooth Jazz" it will create a "Smooth Jazz Radio" station on Pandora and play that, and the station gets added to your station list permanently (until you manually delete it). Station creation should always require an explicit keyword, e.g. "Alexa, create a Smooth Jazz station". If you say something like "Alexa, play Smooth Jazz" and there is no matching station and nothing matching in Prime music or your Amazon music library, she should respond that she can't find "Smooth Jazz" and ASK if you would like to create a Pandora station for it (then if you say "yes", it would do so).

For the love of Goddess and all that is Holy, please fix this! 90% of my Pandora stations are worthless **ahem** now because I have the same carefully-curated 10 or so stations... and 90-100 that are Alexa misunderstanding me or something, or not finding a song in my library because I said the name wrong. Defaulting to creating a new station any time no other music match is found is a terrible design when the whole point of stations is to curate the "perfect" station. The entire reason I've been a faithful Pandora One fan for 11 years is because I have a broad and eclectic taste in music, and I can curate a station for each taste, depending on how I feel in a given moment. When I suddenly find myself scrolling through page after page after page of one-off garbage stations, that utterly ruins the experience. Bonus, it's 100x worse on some Pandora-enabled devices -- my car stereo and home AV receiver spring so painfully to mind with their one line displays. With 10, even 20 stations I want, it's not a particularly bad experience... but when the list gets Charlie-Foxtrotted into oblivion by junk stations I never wanted Alexa to even listen to in the first place (let alone create individual stations for each munged request), it's just a nightmare. Not to mention making it dangerous to try to change the station while driving (I basically try to get the station set before I leave, because it's too **ahem** dangerous to do so with this obnoxiously polluted list). For those more graphically oriented, my Pandora stations before Alexa and after: My station list, before (left) and after (right) Alexa
