This, and several options to choose from automatically generated covers. i.e. of artists themselves or their logos, or of albums. Perhaps, optionally, even dynamically changing either randomly per session, or artists with most thumbs up, most recently played, newly released album covers, etc etc.
Maybe even tie in with deviant art and similar sites.

" 'Covenant' is an electro band from Sweden, but there's also I think a country Christian band as well as a death metal band by that name as well. You can't fault the system for not immediately knowing this" I would disagree. These are all different enough The Music Genome Project should be able to very easily differentiate between them. After all, the main job it has is analyzing the qualities of songs and artists.

I'd like to see a whole slew of vu meters. Let me choose one specific or a random selection, and make it per station/playlist.

Radio for grown ups! I'd rather simply not hear a song if it's only available as a censored version. Put a disclaimer stating this option may entirely skip certain songs that weren't licensed as uncensored.

Dark mode, sure. Native GNU/Linux client that respects my desktop theme (and privacy...)? Way better.

Yes. One of the worst things about Pandora's radio is how overplayed tracks are and if you allow a hint of something more mainstream then you get bombarded with it!

+1 for higher quality audio. I'd like to see (hear) 128KB/s (VBR) Opus. https://wiki.xiph.org/Opus_Recommended_Settings for more info and links to studies done. Results show Opus is perceptually superior to MP3, Vorbis, and others. It is also technically superior and a free format. Yes, the number is lower but it is said to sound lossless at this quality bitrate. The bitrate can go higher i.e. for 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound . Frankly, I'm offended that they want $165/yr for a family plan and the "higher quality audio" is only one step up. It still sounds terrible. For this reason alone, I don't think I'm going to continue with my trial. The quality to price ratio simply isn't worth it.
