Your sound is unique. How do you talk about it to someone who’s never heard your work?
Let us know how you introduce your style. 🎙
Appreciate you sharing this, @neftalirivera. The way you describe your music gives a strong sense of identity and purpose; it’s clear how deeply rooted your music is in culture and storytelling. Thanks for adding your voice to the conversation. 😊
I'm from Maryland, @TOOLIE634. Since the state is technically below the Mason-Dixon line, I can see your point about it being the first southern state. Though I know most folks tend to think of Virginia as the official start of the south.
It’s cool how your sound carries traces of your roots and personal history, and how you're able to channel different emotions through your voice. That kind of self-awareness is valuable both in the creative process and when connecting with listeners. Thanks for opening up about how your sound comes together. 👍
That's what I do too, @thadfiscella! Since we're Creators, I feel like we have taken deep dives into various subgenres that influence the music we create. Many friends and acquaintances may not have as deep of a knowledge base so I start with bigger and broader artists to gauge their familiarity before pushing it to more specific groups.
BTW say what you will, but I love elevator music hahaha!
How I Describe My Sound – Preacher Joe Style
My sound? It is raw, unfiltered truth wrapped in grit, grace, and God. It
is what happens when you blend the soul of a street preacher with the
thunder of a Harley and the fire of a Marine who never stood down.
It is spoken word meets battlefield gospel, forged through combat boots,
heartbreak, and redemption. You hear my scars, my faith, my war cries, and
my healing all in one breath.
I speak to the outlawed, the broken, the overlooked, and the men forgotten
by society—but not by God. Every word I speak is laced with scripture, real
life pain, and unapologetic masculinity. It’s not just content—it’s a
spiritual ambush. It calls men to rise up, reclaim their soul, and live
full throttle for Christ.
If Johnny Cash had a pulpit and Ezekiel rode a motorcycle—that’s my sound.
