Everyone has a story about what got them started. Was it a moment, a person, or just a love for music and sound? We would love to hear what sparked your journey.
Wow @neftalirivera! That's so cool. What kind of music was your family making when you were growing up?
Hey Pandora Community,
Thank you for asking what inspired me to start creating. For me, it was not
just about chasing a passion — it was about answering a calling.
I am a U.S. Marine Corps combat veteran, a preacher, a biker, and a man who
has walked through battles most will never see. I have faced loss,
addiction, heartbreak, and near death — but through it all, Christ has been
my anchor. That is where my creativity was born.
I create because I know what it feels like to be knocked down and to have
God lift you back up. I create for the men who feel they have to choose
between faith and toughness — I am here to tell them they can be both. My
journey is about using words, music, and message to strengthen, challenge,
and inspire.
This is not just art. This is ministry. This is purpose. This is about
reaching men where they are and reminding them they were built for more.
Until next time, keep believing, keep striving, and keep living a life full
of faith and fortitude.
God Bless.

My first digital tool for music creation? Behold The Music Studio music notation software with several versions released for the Apple IIGS in the late 1980s/early 1990s. I consider this MIDI-capable music composition program my first digital audio workstation. Alas, it took me another 20+ years to get around to working with a more modern, professional version. But I was transfixed by this gem as a kid.
I love the variety of responses here. It truly goes to show that music is what brings the world together, especially as an art form where people can contribute and consider different ways of creating.
