hi there,
I just released a new 3-Track EP under my artist name "YOU BRED RAPTORS"
I've never done a Featured Track or Promoted Single before, as I didn't know this was an option until my other tracks were too old.
So I was really excited getting ready for this release to try these features right when my EP went live.
Unfortunately, when I just went to set a featured track, all of my songs were grayed out, and say "Unfortunately, you may not feature a track that started spinning on Pandora more than one year ago, was featured previously or does not have at least 10 spins over the last 7 days."
Does this mean that I need to wait until I get 10 plays on a song in a 7 day period, and THEN I can Feature that song?
I'm an incredibly unpopular artist here on pandora, and was hoping this would be a way to help promote my new music. But it seems like I can't promote my music until I'm already getting a certain amount of traffic?
is this correct?
thank you very much for your time.
sincerely,
- corey
Hey @CoreyTilton 👋
Ah yeah it's not unusual for artists to get this notification shortly after their release goes live.
Just to clarify, your track needs to be spinning at least 10 times a week on radio before it'll be eligible to be a Featured Track.
In general, we recommend waiting 3-4 weeks after a track has started spinning on Pandora to begin featuring it. This gives Pandora's genome enough time to start spinning the track and growing that track's audience organically before the feature period begins.
I hope that helps. I'm sure your tracks will pick up some steam!

I am in the same boat and while my songs are getting a lot of streams on spotify, I cant seem to get any spins at all on Pandora? Its really strange to me, there has to be some way to break the cycle so we can at least be allowed to promote our song? How are we able to break out of the 0 spins jail, are we able to submit to anywhere to be heard? Submit to stations? Thanks so much!
Hey @Alex8008 - I completely understand where you're coming from. Saying 'Hi' here in the Creators Community is a great way to start 🙂
I would recommend attending one of our upcoming AMP webinars. You can see them in the Creators Events page here. The webinars are super helpful to learn more about effectively using the AMP marketing tools and building your presence on Pandora in addition to connecting with some of the Pandora Curators. They are all friendly folks - most are musicians themselves!
You can also check out the Get Your New Release on the AMP: Fresh Cut Station! thread to learn about submitting your music to that station.
Lastly, it does not hurt to share your Pandora station on social media. The more thumb feedback your fans are able to provide the better to help your music grow on our platform.
I hope this helps 🌴
