hi there,
I just released a new 3-Track EP under my artist name "YOU BRED RAPTORS"
I've never done a Featured Track or Promoted Single before, as I didn't know this was an option until my other tracks were too old.
So I was really excited getting ready for this release to try these features right when my EP went live.
Unfortunately, when I just went to set a featured track, all of my songs were grayed out, and say "Unfortunately, you may not feature a track that started spinning on Pandora more than one year ago, was featured previously or does not have at least 10 spins over the last 7 days."
Does this mean that I need to wait until I get 10 plays on a song in a 7 day period, and THEN I can Feature that song?
I'm an incredibly unpopular artist here on pandora, and was hoping this would be a way to help promote my new music. But it seems like I can't promote my music until I'm already getting a certain amount of traffic?
is this correct?
thank you very much for your time.
sincerely,
- corey
Hey @CoreyTilton 👋
Ah yeah it's not unusual for artists to get this notification shortly after their release goes live.
Just to clarify, your track needs to be spinning at least 10 times a week on radio before it'll be eligible to be a Featured Track.
In general, we recommend waiting 3-4 weeks after a track has started spinning on Pandora to begin featuring it. This gives Pandora's genome enough time to start spinning the track and growing that track's audience organically before the feature period begins.
I hope that helps. I'm sure your tracks will pick up some steam!
