Android: App not connecting on WiFi

MarcusShealy

I have researched this connection issue I am having as I am pretty technical and tech savvy. However, there has been no resolution. My Pandora only works when I disable my wifi. Which is completely strange because every other app I have works. I have completed all recommend options and none are working. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, so on and so on... Kinda sad, I have had Pandora since the beginning and don't want Spotify... I literally just paid the bill for the month..

I have the same problem.  Pandora only works on my Galaxy S23 with wifi disconnected.  That is, I cannot connect to anything on pandora.com with wifi enabled.  This change has occurred within  the last six days.

To add to the above, it looks like release 2409.1 went live on 9/29/2025, essentially the same time these problems surfaced.  I doubt that is purely coincidental.

The strange thing in all of this is not being able to connect to https://www.pandora.com with wifi enabled. In my case, the connection times out.  However, I can connect to https://community.pandora.com/ without issues.

Correction: I cannot access any of the Pandora websites with wifi enabled on the S23.'

I have the same problem on my Galaxy S23. Thought maybe it was a Samsung security update installed last week. Tried all the same troubleshooting tips mentioned in the earlier posts. Pandora works fine on my  laptop with wifi.

@sdavis011 @65Sprint Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us!

We’re sorry to hear you’re having trouble with Pandora not connecting over WiFi, and we really appreciate you taking the time to reach out. I’d like to gather a few more details to help us better understand what’s happening so we can share this with our engineering team for further investigation.

Could you please confirm the following:

  • Are you able to stream Pandora when using a cellular data connection?
  • When connected to WiFi, does the Pandora app immediately transition you to Offline Mode?
  • Or when connected to WiFi, does the Pandora app fail to load upon launch?
  • Does the app open, but content such as Stations or Playlists won’t load or is the play button unresponsive?

In your reply, please include your device details:

  • Android OS version:
  • Pandora version:

Thanks so much for your help in answering these clarifying questions, and for your patience in the meantime.

Adam, good afternoon.  In reply to your questions:

1. Yes, I can stream Pandora from a cellular data connection.

2.  If I try to launch the app with wifi enabled, "Waiting for connection. Try again? CANCEL RETRY", is returned.  The app fails to load upon launch/open.

3.  Android version 15.

4. Pandora version 2509.1.

Thanks for looking at this.

@65Sprint Thanks for following up.

Lastly, can you please let me know:

  • Your mobile carrier (ex: AT&T, Verizon, etc)
  • Your internet service provider for your home WiFi

I appreciate your continued help with this!

Verizon is the mobile carrier and Piedmont Rural Telephone Cooperative (Home - PRTC) is our home ISP.  I can confirm that the issue occurs on the phone at two different WiFi locations, each using a different ISP.

Pandora will not connect using Wi-Fi on our cell phones or tablets. It works perfectly on our mobile data. We've done all the troubleshooting suggested and nothing helps. The only recent change is we switched to Carolina Connect Fiber Internet. Is anyone else having the same issue? How can we get it working?
