there was a change in early January 2025 that I suspect was tied to Android OS updates. I think at the same time I was prompted to use facial recognition in place of a PIN to open the phone.
I work in a noisy environment and use noise canceling blue-tooth earbuds and Pandora. I liked that Pandora got pushed to the background by an incoming phone or web call, and then Pandora automatically returned to the foreground and continued playing music at the end of the voice call. Now Pandora gets pushed to the background by the incoming voice or web call, but after the call Pandora does not come to the foreground and continue to play. I can bring up its screen, and then it begins to play, but not continuing play - rather starting over.
I have done my Internet search, and found many descriptions over recent years that sound similar. I have applied all of the fixes that I have read, clearing cache and data for the app and also Bluetooth, uninstall and re-installing the Pandora app. I suspect this is a new issue, and maybe the action is to wait for the next Pandora update!

Hi @cowen82
Welcome to community!
Thanks for posting your experience, sorry to hear this is happening. I'm happy to pass this along to our engineering team for further review and investigation.
Are there any power saving options on your Moto Power that may be enabled? It's possible that when in the background the OS might be closing the app to conserve power or resources. Each Android device can be slightly different, but these settings could be found under Settings under Apps or Battery. The owners manual for your specific device may yield more specific steps.
In the meantime, I've gone ahead and passed along your info to the appropriate teams. Thanks for being thorough in your post!
Thanks for trying, @cowen82. I've updated my follow up with your recent feedback. Thanks again.
Was this ever resolved? I'm having similar issues and have tried all recommended fixes that Pandora said to do.
Hi @burksh
Welcome to community!
This is has been a hard experience to replicate. I'm happy to pass along your information to the engineering team.
Could you please let me know the following:
Do you find that this typically happen with longer calls, shorter calls or both?
I can add to my original post the possibility that this is Bluetooth related - when troubleshooting I kept finding postings that made changes to Bluetooth, such as purging cache, deleting and remaking the Bluetooth connection, and others. I tried those things without success. but I have since noticed that, if I power off my Bluetooth earbuds, the phone remains silent for a period of time - maybe 30 minutes - and then suddenly Pandora starts playing through the phone speaker! I attribute that to a persisting Bluetooth connection for that period of time - once the phone gives up on the connection and sound reverts to the speaker, then Pandora again starts to play. I have not made any changes to my phone or earbuds or Bluetooth for a year or more, and so I am inclined to attribute this to a software update - could be Android, Bluetooth drivers, earbud drivers or Pandora app. I don't have control over any of this, so I chose the patience option - post my problem, and hope that down the road some other driver / software update will come through and fix the problem.
