Pandora app shutting down/android

Since the last update pandora has trouble opening, almost always requesting a retry. In addition the app stops playing when it goes to background no matter what changes I make in settings.

You mentioned that it "requests" a retry when it has trouble opening.

I'm in a bad area and can't upload right now. The message says 'Waiting for connection. Try again?' I'm having trouble with another app connecting and I'm wondering if it's something that happened after the last Android update.
