Pandora automatically turns on, but does not play

There are times that I will have my phone down or charging or just randomly using it, and I will see a pandora notification.  Its not an update or a push notification, its the app restarting and loading the last song that was played.  It does not start playing the song, but I don't understand why the app would load automatically.

Bluetooth settings are off for purposes of auto play.

The only Bluetooth device that is usually connected is my Samsung active smartwatch.

I do have 2 separate headphones, but they are not on at the time.

I also have a Bluetooth car radio, but I will manually turn on pandora when I get in the car.

So like I will wake up and pandora will be on, but not playing.

Ill grab from my desk, and it will be on and not playing.

And it is random so far.  I have not put time into force stopping it and see if that fixes the issue or not.

Hey there, @elrodvoss. 👋

Are you leaving the app paused when you're done listening? Or, are you exiting the app completely?

I've enabled a trace on your Pandora account to better understand what's happening, and in case we need to report this to our engineering team. In the meantime, I would recommend trying out the following steps. From your Android Settings, please try clearing the Pandora app data using the following steps (not to worry, we'll keep track of your profile and collection for you):*

  1. Open your device Settings
  2. Tap Apps
  3. Scroll down to find Pandora
  4. Select Storage
  5. On the storage details page tap Clear Data.

Keep in mind that the steps for each Android device is slightly different. If you have a Pixel, you can find helpful steps here.

Please note that you will be asked to log into your account after completing these steps.

*Pandora Premium and Premium Family listeners may need to re-download some of their offline content after this. Pandora Plus users, however, should receive that offline content again automatically. If you have any trouble with your offline stations after this, please let us know.
