AAOS: Waiting for Connection Error Message

I have the Pandora app on my iPhone and managed to add it in my new car, but it doesn't always load. I usually get a message that says, "You are offline". Lately, I can get the screen to show my Pandora music options/favorites but, when I press any of one of them, nothing happens. I also noticed a few weeks ago when it was working, it was actually doing so without having my iPhone with me. Is that possible?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank you. I was able to find that on my Rogue, but how does connecting to my home network help to connect to Pandora when I'm away from home?

Does Pandora work while connected to your home network (e.g.; while your vehicle is in your driveway)?  If it does then this just proves that the built-in infotainment system app is only having issues while on the vehicle's mobile network (4G LTE or 5G).  Obviously once you leave your house the Wi-Fi network will become unavailable so it doesn't help solve the overall issue.

I was stoked about this since I have a '25 Equinox EV with AAOS.  However, there is an issue - Pandora will work fine with OnStar One (because it contains OnStar Connect Plus), but not with OnStar Basic.

OnStar Basic supports audio streaming, and apps like SPOTIFY work fine with it.  Pandora will load and let me browse music, but when I select music to play, it gives me a "Waiting for connection" message and does not progress.

Since I was parked at my house, I decided to test a theory that it was something to do with the connection.  I connected my car to my home wifi, and I could then play music.

I then disconnected and activated a trial of OnStar One.  Again, Pandora works fine.

I do hope the developers can look into this.  Paying $35/mo for OnStar One or $20/mo for OnStar Connect Plus is not a viable option for me.

Pandora in the car is version 2607.3.  I am subscribed to Pandora Plus.

A (lousy) work-around would be to hot spot your phone and connect the car to it.  That'd work while driving.  Personally, I like to have the option of leaving my phone at home sometimes, so I hope Pandora fixes this issue.

I have the same issue on my Chevy Equinox EV.

  1. Pandora works fine if connected to WiFi, or with an OnStar Connect Plus plan.
  2. Pandora exhibits the same "Waiting for Connection" when only using the OnStar Basic plan.
  3. Spotify and other audio streaming apps works fine using the OnStar Basic plan.
