I have the Pandora app on my iPhone and managed to add it in my new car, but it doesn't always load. I usually get a message that says, "You are offline". Lately, I can get the screen to show my Pandora music options/favorites but, when I press any of one of them, nothing happens. I also noticed a few weeks ago when it was working, it was actually doing so without having my iPhone with me. Is that possible?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Does Pandora work while connected to your home network (e.g.; while your vehicle is in your driveway)? If it does then this just proves that the built-in infotainment system app is only having issues while on the vehicle's mobile network (4G LTE or 5G). Obviously once you leave your house the Wi-Fi network will become unavailable so it doesn't help solve the overall issue.
I was stoked about this since I have a '25 Equinox EV with AAOS. However, there is an issue - Pandora will work fine with OnStar One (because it contains OnStar Connect Plus), but not with OnStar Basic.
OnStar Basic supports audio streaming, and apps like SPOTIFY work fine with it. Pandora will load and let me browse music, but when I select music to play, it gives me a "Waiting for connection" message and does not progress.
Since I was parked at my house, I decided to test a theory that it was something to do with the connection. I connected my car to my home wifi, and I could then play music.
I then disconnected and activated a trial of OnStar One. Again, Pandora works fine.
I do hope the developers can look into this. Paying $35/mo for OnStar One or $20/mo for OnStar Connect Plus is not a viable option for me.
Pandora in the car is version 2607.3. I am subscribed to Pandora Plus.
A (lousy) work-around would be to hot spot your phone and connect the car to it. That'd work while driving. Personally, I like to have the option of leaving my phone at home sometimes, so I hope Pandora fixes this issue.
I have the same issue on my Chevy Equinox EV.
I have this same issue. Has anyone called OnStar support to inquire about it? GM seems to be the one making promises to support streaming Music services on the Connect basic plan.
I've been in contact with Pandora, and they are looking into the issue. It likely is a Pandora issue because all of these streaming apps work fine with OnStar Basic:
There are probably others that work fine on Basic.
I suspect that the Pandora for AAOS isn't requestng the network correctly for Basic. That is why it works fine when the car is connected to WiFi (at home, or via cell phone's hot spot) or when the car has OnStar Connect Plus.
OnStar confirmed it's a known issue. They gave us a one-month One Plan as a circumvention.
Did they give any ETA for a fix? It sure is odd that the issue only impacts Pandora, and not other audio streaming apps like Spotify.
That's all the info i got (apparently the rep was chatting with Tier2). I guess they were hoping it was only a month!
I can confirm that it has not been fixed as of today, 9/27/2027. We bought a 2027 Chevy Bolt on 8/17/2027. Shortly after the one month trial of OnStar Connect Plus and the car went to OnStar Basic, Pandora quit working. (8/22/2027)("Waiting for connection")
I've tried the suggested fix. I've cleared the App storage and cache; didn't work. I've cleared App storage, cache, uninstalled, re-installed; still did not work.
Spotify works fine. We have moved our music playlists to Spotify. If this issue isn't resolved within a few weeks, we may drop Pandora entirely.
I was on the phone with OnStar today, for other issues. After those were done, I raised the Pandora issue with them. Supposedly they will call me back with a resolution.
It is funny that browsing music on Pandora works fine, so clearly Pandora is able to use the OnStar internet connection for that. It is only playing music that fails.
I really would love to know whether this is an issue with Pandora, OnStar, or some compatibility between the two. My guess is that Pandora's attempt to stream music is being treated as a request for video streaming, which is why it fails with OnStar basic (but not OnStar One).
I have the same question with my 2026 Nissan Rogue. Is the problem with Pandora or my infotainment system? Pandora music plays fine when I'm driving and using my iPhone's Bluetooth.
@vinnyd51 I believe when you play Pandora using the iPhone's bluetooth, the app is running on the iPhone and using the iPhone's internet connection.

I do not have an IPhone. I have a Samsung Galaxy 25. On my phone, and through our TV connection Pandora plays just fine. It is the connection with the Android Auto System in our Chevy Bolt that does not work. Betsy
