I was told by my dealer that in my brand new 2022 Yukon, pandora would work through the dash without my phone needing to be connected. Yet the day I go to pickup up my car, Pandora is not even an option through the dash. The only way Pandora will work in a brand new Yukon 2022 is if my phone is connected. I have chosen not to accept the car as a result. I don't want to tinker with other music services and I don't want my phone connected to my car. I want to use my pandora that has years and years of my thumbs ups and downs ingrained in it. I have an unlimited data plan and it was turned on when we were testing. We searched the app store for Pandora and every single other music service (iheart, spotify, youtube, amazon music) was searchable and downloadable as an APP except pandora. Is there any way at all to get pandora to work inside of the dash of my brand new 2022 Yukon without my phone being connected ? This dealer did a lot of work to order this new car and spec it out to my liking and I am feeling very guilty that I don't want to take the car because of this pandora issue. Please help.

I’ve ran into the same issue! Until I can figure out how to download it, I’ve been using Alexa to make it play my pandora stations
You would think a 100,000.00 vehicle would have access to the Pandora app. The 2023 GMC does NOT. I see so many complaints you would think they would fix it. I guess it’s just about the money and not customer satisfaction.
For some reason Pandora has not yet made their app compatible with AAOS (android automotive GM and others are using now) devices so it's not on the play store. Been well over a year. Until it's there I canceled my subscription.
I love my new EV which gets 319 miles on a charge and is beautiful and fun to drive. Instead of Android Auto and Apple Car Play, they have apps together with Google Maps built in. It is nice that it works without having your phone plugged in, but I was disappointed that, though they have Spotify, they don't have Pandora. Any idea, anyone, if it might become available at some point?
Thank you!
David
What the mother **ahem**????
Is Pandora no longer part of the Play store for GMC ?
It's not available in playstore in my new Equinox EV.
Same on mine.
No matter what I do, I can’t download Pandora on the Volvo Infotainment system in my 2025 XC60. Using Google Play Store, I was very easily able to locate and download Spotify after logging into my Google account. But if I search for Pandora on the Google Play Store, it doesn’t show up as an option. Very frustrating. I can use Bluetooth to play Pandora from my iPhone but it’s not the same.
Hi @mrbobC
Apologies for any confusion. Sounds like you're using the new Android Auto Operating System in your new Volvo. Unfortunately, this is not supported by Pandora. I've passed along your feedback to our product teams. For now, you can listen through regular Android Auto app or Bluetooth.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
I don't know what you mean by "regular Android Auto app". I am able to listen through a Bluetooth connection to my iPhone but doing so is a workaround and is anything but seamless. In any event, it's very disappointing that a supposedly advanced, state-of-the-art Infotainment system on a brand new 2025 XC60 Ultra, doesn't have access to Pandora from the Google Play Store download function.
Hi @mrbobC
There are two version of Android Auto.
The first, a phone-based app that projects a simplified version of your Android phone’s interface onto your car’s infotainment screen. You connect your phone (via USB or wirelessly), and the car displays an interface controlled by your phone.
The second, which your vehicle is equipped with, is Android Auto Operating System. A full operating system built into the car itself, based on Android. The car has Android built in, so it can run apps and functions natively, without needing a phone.
I've noted your feedback around AAOS to our products team for future improvements to the Pandora app.
Since I have an iPhone, the only interface I'm aware of between the phone and the infotainment system is Apple CarPlay. And, as you know, the only available connection is with a US-C cable. There is no wireless connection available for this.
I'm aware of the car's Android Auto OS. But, unless I'm missing something, the tool for downloading apps is the Google Play Store which doesn't currently provide access to Pandora.
Pandora is my preferred App for streaming music. It would be nice to figure this out.
Oh, I see, @mrbobC.
Since you're on an iPhone, and Apple CarPlay is not available through AAOS and Pandora does not support AAOS, the only way to access Pandora in your vehicle at this time is by connecting your iPhone via Bluetooth or USB.
I recognize this isn't the seamless experience you were hoping for. However, your feedback is valued, and I have shared it with the appropriate internal teams.
Thank you. At least I have confirmed there's nothing further to be done at this time. If/when Pandora becomes available through the Volvo AAOS, how will I find out about it?
Will the developers please pay attention to this request? More and more vehicles are switching to an automotive OS, most being Android but Apple is trying to get in the game as well.
Please add Pandora to AAOS. I have used Pandora for so long. Not having an app for my vehicle when everyone else (even SoundCloud) does, plus the lower quality audio format, makes me wonder if this app is getting close to death. It would be a real shame to see Pandora disappear.
