Hi @openlcr
Welcome to community!
Sorry to hear you're running into trouble with the signal dropping in your car. I’m happy to help explain what may be happening.
Pandora relies on an active internet connection to stream music. When you're listening at home, you're most likely connected to a stable Wi-Fi network, which usually provides a stronger and more consistent connection.
In the car, Pandora typically uses a cellular data connection instead. Because of that, things like weak coverage areas, network congestion, traveling between cell towers, tunnels, parking garages, rural areas, or even temporary interruptions from your carrier can cause the stream to buffer, pause, or disconnect.
Your car connection type can also play a role. Whether you're using Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, or a direct USB connection, the audio connection itself may stay connected while the cellular data signal drops in the background.
As a Pandora Plus subscriber, you also have the option to listen to your stations in Offline Mode, which can help in areas where cellular coverage may not be as strong.
To better understand what you're experiencing, could you tell me a little more about your setup?
• What is your phone model?
• Are you connecting through Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, or USB?
• Does the music stop completely, buffer, or skip tracks?
• Does this happen everywhere you drive, or only in certain areas?
Thanks for the additional details.
I have 2025 Subaru Outback and it happens everywhere. I plug in my phone (iPhone 16) to USB. Miudic stood and buffers.
Hi @openlcr Thanks for the reply!
Do you connect to a WiFi connection in your Subaru or do you use cellular connection from your phone?
In the meantime, I'm happy to take a closer look. I've enabled a trace on your account to help me review. Please continue to use Pandora as you normally would.
The next time you're in your car and run into trouble, let me know the date and relative time and I'll have a peak to see if there is anything unusual going on.
Thanks for your patience in the meantime!
