CarPlay + iOS 18: Selecting content doesn't transition to Now Playing Screen

Pandora Update (11/22/2024): We appreciate everyone's patience, and understand that these issues around Apple CarPlay have been frustrating and disruptive to your listening experience in the vehicle. Our engineering teams have been working diligently to resolve this for all impacted listeners.

We're happy to announce that Pandora version 2411.1 for iOS should resolve the following issues with CarPlay:

• Listeners who experience trouble with stations loading in the Recent tab.
• Listeners who experience an error message "There was a problem loading this content".
• Listeners who experience loading issues with songs within a playlist.
• Listeners who experience the screen not automatically transitioning to the Now Playing screen.

We recommend manually updating to the latest version (2411.1) of Pandora by visiting the Apple App Store on your iOS device and using the below steps to update.

How to manually update apps on your iPhone:

• Open the App Store.
• Tap the My Account button or your photo at the top of the screen.
• Scroll down to see pending updates and release notes. Tap Update next to an app to update only that app, or tap Update All.

In some cases you may need to refresh the page in order to see the update. After updating to Pandora version 2411.1, please try Pandora with CarPlay again and let us know if you're still having trouble.

Please use your mobile device in your vehicle only when conditions allow and as permitted by applicable law.

Dont you have a small widget in the upper right side of screen? Tap on it to show Now Playing screen.

Thanks, I see where the arrow is. I’m hoping the screen can return to ‘now playing’ if that is the last display on the screen.

I'm having the same problem discussed here in 2023. Pandora will play in my 2024 4Runner using apple car play, but only displays my stations but not Now Playing. I am using an iPhone 12 running IOS 18.0.1.

I'm having the same issue.  I can select my stations but after I select a station I get a Unable to load Content error message.

When I try to select a station it will not go to the now playing screen. Instead it just gives me an error message.

I'm having the same issue since updating to iOS 18. I have to push the icon for now playing to get it to switch. I've confirmed this is not an Apple issue. As a premium member I would expect Pandora to handle this quickly. Looks like I'll have to switch to Spotify.

Can’t change back and forth between previously chosen stations on CarPlay, still getting messages of unable to load information. Order of last station played not updating on”Recent” all despite latest pandora update 2409.1, iOS 18.1.0 and having deleted pandora and reloaded it on my phone.

I am having this issue as well. And clicking on a station sometimes starts playing a song from a previously played station.

I am having same problem on CarPlay as others where Pandora will not load, will not let me select station, will not let me advance to next song, will not show “now playing”. I am switching to Amazon Music until Pandora gets this fixed. Better be soon or I’m cancelling subscription. Already been almost a month.

I found that update my head unit to the latest software update that the manufacturer had did help. I also found that sometimes the now plane button within the Pandora app would not show, but if I used the actual now playing button on the home screen I could get there. Hope this helps.

All the same probs in my 2023 Corolla hatchback. Won’t show now playing screen unless I back out to the widgets screen where it shows multiple apps at once
