I have a Nissan Pathfinder when my phone is plugged in and I am using Pandora. I can search for songs by using my voice by saying hey Google or hey Pandora play this song by this artist. When I used to search it would start playing a song and in the top right corner there would be a related search drop-down menu for songs related to my search or request.
For example if I searched for starship never going to stop us now it usually would start playing a remastered version of the song or the live version of the song which I prefer the studio album so I could pull down the drop-down menu and choose the version of the song I prefer.
That feature seems to have disappeared and I can't figure out how to get it back.
Today I searched for Elvis Presley Teddy Bear and it kept playing a cover song with no lyrics and I could not for the life of me get it to play the real song.
How can I get the related searches back or is there a way to turn that feature back on as it is very difficult to type in searches while driving.
Hi @MrRipps23
Welcome to community!
Sorry for any trouble with Pandora and Android Auto. Could you tell me a bit more about your devices:
Did you notice this change recently, and if so, would you say the last couple of days or a week?
Additionally, could you take a picture of your experience with the missing drop down menu. You can attached picture directly here in community, but be sure to do this from a web or mobile browser. Attaching a photo through the email notification you may receive won't come through.
Thanks for the additional help!
@MrRipps23 did you ever figure this out? I'm experiencing the same thing, however I'm just returning to Android Auto after a 14 month iPhone stint.
My current phone is a Pixel10 ProXL on Android 16, Pandora v2510.1.1, Android Auto v15.7.654634. I'm running Android Auto in a 2021 Subaru Ascent with stock head unit. Previously, I had a Pixel 7 pro with Android (14? ) and I used to get the related searched button in the upper-right of the screen after a voice search, but no more.
I thought it might be related to the move to Gemini from Google Assistant. I changed my phone back to using Google Assistant but that didn't seem to help.
@MrRipps23 did you figure out a solution?
I'm having the same issue, car is a 2021 Subaru Ascent with OEM head unit and a wired android auto connection.
My last Android phone (Pixel 9 Pro, Android 14) that I got rid of in 2024 worked as expected with the related searches button in the upper right. I was looking forward to getting this function back when returning to Android, but it seems to be missing or removed now.
I tried switching my voice assistant from Gemini to Google Assistant, but still not seeing the extra results button.
@TannerPandora do you have any more insight on this?
Hi @noway7454
Happy New Year! I'm happy to report your experience to our internal teams for further investigation.
Could you confirm that this recently changed, and/or specifically changed when you switched phones?
Additionally, please share a picture of where the related searches is expected to be on your Android Auto. I can share this with our engineering team. You can share a picture here in this thread. Please note this is done best on a mobile or web browser - you won't be able to share pictures through email notifications.
Thanks for the additional details about your device - this is super helpful and I appreciate it!
Thanks for the help!
Please use your mobile device only when conditions allow and as permitted by applicable law.
Hi happy New Year. This worked in September 2024 which was the last time I had an Android device. Not sure exactly when it stopped working.
Here's where the button would have been
Thanks for the follow up and for the picture, @noway7454! I'm not aware of any changes on our end, but I've passed along your experience to our engineering team for further review. Thanks for your patience in the meantime!
