Buffering issues on iphone 15.

Hi, I recently started having issues with buffering on the Pandora Free Music Radio app on my iPhone 15. I tried everything suggested below and still have issues. Please help. I am frustrated with this app!

Quick Fixes (Try These First)
  • Check Internet: Verify you have a strong Wi-Fi or cellular signal.
  • Restart Device: Turn your iPhone 15 off and on again.
  • Force Close App: Swipe up from the bottom and swipe Pandora off the screen, then reopen.

Deeper Troubleshooting Steps
  1. Update Everything:
    • Pandora: Go to the App Store, find Pandora, and tap "Update" if available.
    • iOS: Go to Settings > General > Software Update and install any pending updates.
  2. Clear Cache/Reinstall:
    • Hold the Pandora app icon, tap "Remove App," then "Delete App".
    • Reinstall from the App Store.
  3. Toggle Cellular Data: Go to Settings > Cellular and turn Cellular Data off, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.
  4. Reset Network Settings: Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings (this removes saved Wi-Fi passwords).
  5. Check Pandora Status: Visit sites like DownDetector to see if their servers are down.

Advanced Solutions
  • Check Settings: Ensure you haven't accidentally set streaming quality too high for your connection in Pandora's settings.
  • Consider VPN: A VPN like Speedify can sometimes combine connections for better bandwidth, say experts.

Hi @ca11 , thanks for posting!

Sorry for the trouble, it looks like you are following the troubleshooting steps for web listening and for the app on Android devices. You may want to try the steps for the app on iPhone instead:

  1. Reboot the device by shutting it down entirely, then turn it back on and try Pandora again.
  2. Uninstall, then reinstall the app*: Hold down the Pandora icon on the home screen until all the icons start shaking. Then tap the tiny "x" that appears in the upper left of the Pandora icon, and confirm that you want to delete the app. Then re-install Pandora via the App Store on the device.

Let me know how it goes.

Sorry to hear these steps didn't help @ca11 .

Could you explain what's happening in more detail? When this issue occurs:

  • Is the app still open in the background where you're able to press play and resume music or do you need to close and relaunch the app to continue listening?
  • Are you listening to a station, album, playlist, or podcast?
  • Are you connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data? If using Wi-Fi, are you able to recover the listening session by toggling Wi-Fi off?
  • Are you using a Bluetooth connection?

Additionally, please provide both your iOS and Pandora app versions:

  • iOS version: (Settings > General > About > Version)
  • Pandora version: (Pandora > Profile tab > Settings gear & scroll to the bottom of the screen)

Thanks for your help!

Hello,

Thank you for reaching back out. See my responses below.

Is the app still open in the background where you're able to press play and
resume music or do you need to close and relaunch the app to continue
listening? The app is still open in the background. I press play to resume
music and I see buffering. None of my other streaming apps are buffering.
No problem playing music on YouTube.

Are you listening to a station, album, playlist, or podcast?

I set up a playlist and listen to music off that list. I never had a
problem before and don't understand what happened.

Are you connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data?

In my home I am connected to Wi-Fi. All my other apps and software work
fine. I use cellular data for outside the home. When I am walking I use
cellular data. I have toggled my cellular data on and off to see if that
would work, but it doesn't.

If using Wi-Fi, are you able to recover the listening session by toggling
Wi-Fi off? I have toggled it, and it still doesn't help with Pandora.

Are you using a Bluetooth connection? Yes

Additionally, please provide both your iOS and Pandora app versions:
iOS version: (Settings > General > About > Version) IOS 26.2
Pandora version: (Pandora > Profile tab > Settings gear & scroll to the
bottom of the screen) version 2510.1

I have tried removing the Pandora app and reloading. I have shutdown my
phone and restarted, I have checked all my system features to make sure
everything is good. I have toggled cellular and Wi-Fi on and off. I checked
my internet connection and every other software or app is working fine.

I am also going to T-Mobile to see if they can help.

If nothing works, I am at a point where I might just delete my account
since its not working. Thank goodness I did not buy the subscription.
