Social media has made artists less authentic. Too harsh or spot on?

I think that a lot of artists want to be in the spot light and be popular. With social media their music is everywhere and everyone has there own opinions about the songs. So the artists try to make songs that the public want.

This is just my opinion if you disagree that is fine. Just let me know what you think.

It's an interesting question. From an artist point of view (which I'm not), social media helps you to show your music to a wider audience; however, social media does the same this for many other artists. This makes more difficult for you to keep your music "relevant".

From a listener's point of view, it's nice to have more options to listen.
