Desktop: Music Plays Slowly

Hi, I'm using my home computer with Win 10 and chromecast between my network and my multimedia system. No wifi in this setup - pure 1G ethernet. Plenty of speed and memory on my PC. My internet service provider is Spectrum at 400Mbs. Sounds like you're putting your finger on the record platter. Usually at the beginning of the song.

mod edit: changed title for clarity

Hi there, @kbless. 👋

Thanks so much for posting about this. I moved your post over to the Desktop section of the community to keep everything organized.

Could you tell me a bit more about what is happening?

  • Are you using a web browser when you're listening to Pandora? If so, which one?
  • Or, are you using the Pandora Desktop app for Windows 10?

I do see that you mentioned Chromecast and a multimedia system. Could you also clarify how you're connected? Are you streaming Pandora from your computer to any of these devices when this happens?

Let me know, and I can help with troubleshooting. 🎧

Same issue to report. The streaming of known songs in Pandora is playing at about 0.7 speed. Same with YouTube videos when I open one for viewing. I have cleared cache in Chrome and I am connected at 1GB speeds with plenty of memory. Please advise how to restore play to normal speed.

@jcrozier Welcome to Community!

Sorry to hear you've been having troubles. It sounds like the issue may be related to the network you're using to connect to Pandora.

Please try connecting your device directly via an Ethernet cable and see if that helps.

If there is no change, try rebooting your connection:

  1. Shut down your device completely;
  2. Unplug your modem and router, wait one full minute, and then plug them back in;
  3. Wait five more minutes to allow the modem and router to fully boot back up;
  4. Turn your device back on and try Pandora again.

If Pandora still isn't working, could you check if you're able to connect to your network using another streaming service, such as YouTube?

You might also try connecting your device to an entirely different network, or using a different device on your current network, to see if your streaming improves.

Let me know how it goes!
