This webpage was reloaded because it was using significant energy

For quite a while now I have been getting the above message and the spinning wheel on my Mac mini M1 computer while using Pandora in Safari. 

Could someone explain to me what is happening and just what is significant energy.

It doesn't seem to matter how long you wait, the spinning wheel never stops. It appears the only fix for this is to restart Pandora.

@daleslad Could you tell me a bit more about what you're experiencing?

Have you tried a different browser? Or is it happening on all browsers?

In the meanwhile, I'd recommend updating Safari and clearing your Cookies, Cache, and History.
