Pandora Update: 9/8/2026
Hi everyone,
Thanks for your patience while our teams worked on this issue.
The community team has received confirmation that a fix has been released for the issue causing the window controls (minimize, maximize, and close) to be missing from the Pandora desktop app on Windows. The fix is included in the Windows Pandora Desktop version 16.1.1.
If you have automatic app updates enabled in the Microsoft Store, the latest version should update automatically and no additional action is needed.
If automatic updates are disabled, or if you’d like to manually check for an update, open the Microsoft Store > Library > Check for updates to install the latest version of Pandora.
Thanks again to everyone who reported this issue and for your patience while we worked to get it resolved.
Hi @imagepro
Welcome to Community!
Thanks for letting us know about your experience with the Windows Pandora desktop app, and for sharing the troubleshooting steps you've already tried. That's very helpful.
I've gone ahead and escalated your experience to our engineering team for further investigation.
In the meantime, could you confirm if the keyboard controls help to close and minimize the app?
Thanks again for posting and we appreciate your patience in the meantime!
For any other listeners that may be experiencing this same issue with missing window controls in the Pandora desktop app for Windows, please feel free to post below and let us know. Your info will be included in our internal ticket. Thanks for your patience!
Alt+F4 does nothing. Windows+Down Arrow minimizes the app screen.
Missing the same controls
I'm missing the controls also!
Thanks for letting us know @RichShif and @mandy_iowa! I've added you to our ticket. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for patience in the meantime!
Thanks for checking into it! The Windows key w/ the down arrow does work in the meantime.
I am also missing the top bar, and using right click in the top area to minimize or close.
Same issue, following
The top border ribbon of minimize, restore down, and close no longer appear for me,. I will follow this thread.
I'm also having this problem.
Yes, same issues here on multiple machines. Alt -Space does also give some old fashioned screen controls.
I also have the same issue.
I am also missing the bar with the minimize and X buttons.
TannerPandora,
9/3 or shortly before, say 1st of September, you rolled out a new Pandora Desktop app that removed the windows tile bar and windows right side minimize, restore and close X options. This is a serious mishap on your quality control end to deploy the app in this state. Even though you describe a work around on how to minimize (windows key - down arrow), not every user is going to find this discussion point or know that work around. To close the app you need to right click on the task bar icon and click "Close window". Both of these work arounds are less known for a normal windows user wanting to minimize or close a windows application. You need to resolve this ASAP rather than forcing your user to experience your app taking over control of the desktop. Please take this seriously and deploy a fix immediately. It can be taken the wrong way by many pandora users.
I am most displeased with the latest Pandora Desktop App update. It now apparently is running as a web app using Microsoft Edge settings. If I wanted to use Microsoft Edge, it would be my default browser. It is not. Now, my app has no borders, I have to click on the desktop icon to close the app. And it is now monstrously huge. You are forcing me to consider discontinuing my subscriptions, 6 years loyal member now, and switch to a better app as this is frustrating and I am now losing patience. Please return appearance controls to users as it should be. Thank you for your time.
