Windows Desktop App: Poor Sound Quality

I switched upgraded to a Family subscription from individual premium account and the quality seems degraded listening from the desktop app in my browser?  Did it downgrade my speed/quality with that change?

Thanks.

@wisemore Nice to see you around the Community.

The sound quality should not have been affected when switching to a Premium Family plan.

For listeners accessing Pandora from a computer, Pandora Premium subscribers (like yourself) have the option of 192kbps.

To clarify, do all songs that play through the Desktop App now play with noticeable lower quality?

Or is it only happen with certain songs that play?

Additionally, are you listening from

    • A Mac or Windows computer?
    • Our website, or the desktop app? If you're listening from our website, what browser are you using?

Thanks work working with me on this. 🤝

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. It is the same for all songs. I first thought it was
my Boise speakers, but my other streaming sites seem unchanged. It sounds
muffled, farther away and not as crisp. I'm using a Windows10 computer and
listening from the desktop app as I have done for a few years.

Thanks.

Thanks for following up, @wisemore.

I moved your post over to the Desktop space.

To clarify, can you please try testing out Pandora through a browser instead (ex: Firefox, Google Chrome) and verify if the sound quality is the better/the same as the desktop app?

In the meantime, please also try running through the following troubleshooting steps: Troubleshooting the desktop app on Windows

Thanks again for all your help with this.
