Hello! I am experiencing the same issues. In my settings, I do not allow explicit content, yet it still plays. Definitely not my favorite since my 10 year old listens from my account.
Hi,
I set my account to no explicit lyrics but lately found my songs playing explicit and not clean.
Has something changed that I am unaware of?
Kind regards,
Derek
Hi @GameDesignDude thanks for reaching out and sorry for any trouble.
I've moved your post to an existing thread called Explicit Content filter is not working.
Please check out our Accepted Solution on why you might be hearing some explicit content on your account, as this might explain the reason why you might encounter these situations.
If that's not the case, can you give me a little more feedback so we can take a look into this?
The next time this happens, please thumb down the explicit track(s), and make sure to grab a screenshot(s) of the now playing screen.
Once that is done, can you please follow up with the requested info below?
Thanks for working with me on this. 🤝
This does not work. Pandora is completely failing here.
@kaneslivia To clarify, are explicit tracks still playing on your collected stations even after enabling your explicit filter?
If so, can you please do me a favor and send a screenshot of the next explicit track that plays on one of your stations?
(Please note you won't be able to attach images via email - you will need to open this Community link in a web browser in order to provide attachments)
Thanks for working with me on this. 🤝
My 4 year old daughter knows the F word now.
@ASXLTMYJ I'm happy to help look into this further.

This is considered profanity. Since we do not have a "profanity filter," I expected this "Explicit Content Filter" to do the same job. If I'm somehow wrong to believe that such should be filtered out, then I assume such language would be welcome here in the forum as well, no?(I'm pretty sure we can agree that such would result in "Guideline Violations")
I don't seem to be able to attach a picture. The song with explicit lyrics was "Necessary Evil" by Body Count. I found this thread a few days ago because I had noticed the same problem. This is the first one since then that came through uncensored.
@M0678morgan I've escalated your feedback to our curation team so they can further investigate.
Thanks for reporting!
I'm having issues with my daughters Alexa playing explicit content from Pandora. I have the filter on and I've thumbs downed inappropriate songs/comedy.
@aczj12 I have created a ticket with our support team for you.
They will be contacting you privately via email to help look into this further, so please keep an eye out for their message.
Thanks for your patience in the meantime!
I need help also. I too have the filter for Explicit lyrics turned off and I keep hearing the "F" and "S" words on channels that it should be easy to keep off. I am not listening to rap, more like EDM. This is very uncool. I don't pay to have my family hear this and will cancel if need be.

Note: I'm not on here very often(family life's BUSY A.F. ya know) so these have been getting saved up over the last couple months. I figured I'd put 'em all as one post instead of individual ones....
2nd paragraph visible in that screenshot of the lyrics shows "your party's f**kin' over with" where it's seudo-'censored' but in the audio for the song it's NOT censored at all!
-NEXT-
They REALLY like "D-amn" in this one. -_-
-NEXT-
D-word, S-word, F-word, EVEN THE FRICKN' N-WORD!!!! WHO'S MISSING THIS STUFF?!?!
-NEXT-
"I got something for his punk a**" - These all have them 'censored' in the lyrics, but not in the audio!
Totally blows, cuz I LOVE Santaria. We just need a properly edited one. It wouldn't even take much to fix! I've a version of 311's Chaos song that I edited out the F-word w/ a record scratch. Sounds like a professional radio edit... done w/ Audacity. LOVE 311! ^_^

A screenshot of the explicit track that plays on your station:
A lot of these Dubstep/Electronic type pieces don't have 'lyrics' with them that I can screenshot, but there are definitely still certain explicit words in the audio, though I don't remember which were the offenders in this piece.
-NEXT-
This one said somethin' along the lines of "Mutha F**ka's" if I remember correctly.
-NEXT-
This one likes the C-word. -_-
Thanks for sending those over, @FrostLab.
Unfortunately, we are only able to look into the tracks that recently played. The other screenshots you sent were from November 2022, so we won't be able to diagnose those.
Rockers by Kill the Noise:
This song looks to be properly labeled on our end. The lyrics on this track are clean, but the intro is the dj going "mother. mother." This is likely where it sounds like they are saying an explicit word as you mentioned, but it's being cut off, so really the song is still clean.
Ginger Pubes by Cookie Monsta:
This song also looks to be properly labeled on our end. I had our engineering team look into the specific track that played on your account during the time of the screenshot you captured, and they see that you correctly received the clean audio file of the song on 3/20/23.
If you happen to receive any other explicit tracks on your account, make sure to send them in a reply to this message as soon as you can so that we can help look into it without issue.
Hope this helps!
Re: "...we are only able to look into the tracks that recently played"
What's the threshold on that plz? ...the cut-off time since played.
Re: "...so really the song is still clean"
It's at the transition from repeating "mother" that it finishes what's being started by each interrupted "mother." I've removed it from my thumbed down options so I can make sure next time I hear it, but I wouldn't have bothered screenshot-ing it & including it in such a post if I didn't specifically hear something I shouldn't have.
On the same screen to delete thumbed-down songs from that station, I found the Ginger Pubes one showing the red E in a box:
So, again, we disagree. I've also removed this one from my thumbed-down songs so I can double check, but I'm pretty darn sure of what I hear, or I wouldn't bother with this.
Here's another for ya

New report from today. I'm listening on the iOS app and I have my account set to no explicit lyrics. The channel on my account that I'm listening to is Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm Radio (on My Station Mode), and the song was "Kitty at My Foot" by The Presidents of the United States of America. It has several uncensored f-words in it, toward the end of the song. I didn't try to thumb it down. I didn't notice if it was marked as Explicit.
