We are aware of an issue that may be affecting your ability to use www.pandora.com on web. Our engineers are aware of this and are working on it. Thanks for your patience in the meantime.
Hello! I am experiencing the same issues. In my settings, I do not allow explicit content, yet it still plays. Definitely not my favorite since my 10 year old listens from my account.
@LilMissWalker The next time this happens, please thumb down the explicit track(s), and make sure to grab a screenshot(s) of the now playing screen.
Once that is done, can you please follow up with the requested info below?
Thanks for working with me on this. 🤝
what a joke... I set up an account for my daughter... turn off explicit content...
Search for 'NWA' ' **ahem** the police' and it plays just fine. Now those songs are in the search history. Thanks. VERY bummed that something so obvious can't be filtered.
@allisonmrein The explicit filter will only apply to songs that play on your stations; it doesn't apply to playlists you create, or those created for you by Pandora. Also, It doesn't apply to podcasts.
When you're curating playlists or searching for podcasts, you can identify explicit tracks by a red "E" label. To keep explicit songs or podcasts from your collection, avoid adding those with that label.
Hope this helps explain!
My Pandora will not allow me to turn off explicit music as well and it is a radio station that I am listening to. It is the top R&B and hip-hop hits station. What is wrong with my account?
@Bcricket Just to clarify, the explicit filter will only apply to your radio stations. I noticed that you've recently activated a premium session. While in this premium session if a listener searches for songs or albums, they'll be able to choose from both explicit and clean tracks.
If that doesn't describe your situation, the next time this happens, please thumb down the explicit track(s), and make sure to grab a screenshot(s) of the now playing screen.
Once that is done, can you please follow up with the requested info below?

@laigaiem Thanks for the detailed reply.

Streaming Pandora in a school setting:
As a general rule, any time you play music in a public place, you must have the proper licenses and pay the required royalties. This license requirement helps fairly compensate artists, authors, composers, publishers and other rightholders. Pandora is only authorized to grant you a license to use the Pandora service for personal non-commercial purposes, as stated in our terms of use.
However, under the U.S. Copyright Act, the performance or display of a work by instructors or pupils in the course of face-to-face teaching activities of a nonprofit educational institution may, in certain, limited circumstances, be exempt from certain license requirements. You should consult the venue in which you are speaking, the institution which is conducting or sponsoring the conference or workshop, or your own attorney for advice on whether your use of the Pandora service might qualify under this or some other exception to the licensing requirements of the U.S. Copyright Act.
Use of Pandora in a commercial setting is also available via hardware sold by Mood Media. To learn more about this or to sign up, please visit their website.
Mine is off, and a lot more cuss words are coming through as well. I use my account in my classroom and it is becoming an issue where we may not be allowed to listen to music 😞

We have an account that we use in the office at work, and it still plays explicit songs despite the account being set to filter out explicit songs.

Playing Pandora in an office setting:
It sounds like you're using Pandora to play music in a public setting (which is not considered personal use).
If so, we have a solution for you. Pandora is available and optimized for use in settings like these through Mood Media, with features like unlimited listening, no advertising, and a media player that can connect to your existing sound system.
Additionally, due to the terms of our music licenses, the consumer version of the Pandora service (including Pandora Plus and Pandora Premium) cannot legally be used to play music in a commercial or public setting. Any Pandora listening that isn't personal and private, even for non-profit or tax exempt organizations, must be properly licensed through Mood Media, which fairly compensates artists, authors, composers, publishers and other rightsholders.
Use of Pandora in these settings is available only via hardware sold by Mood Media. To learn more or sign up, click here.
