I've recently been trying to find a very specific style of music, and found that Pandora has more music than I can find even on other platforms interestingly enough.
As such I've been using pandora to pick out these songs, (Shanties that are easy to sing along with specifically) and have been doing pretty well. But apparently there is a feature where if you thumbs down tracks on a station modes will get removed.
Because of this, I can no longer use 'Discovery' on that station and I wanted to know if there was a better method to tune since this apparently flags some kind of issue?
Assistance or advice will be most appreciated.
Attaching screenshot of the situation in particular as I've seen that requested a lot by mods.
@BSOM180 Thank you for sharing your experience with the Community.
To clarify, certain Modes will disappear for 24 hours if an excessive amount of thumbs down ratings are given.
I recommend you edit your station to remove some of those thumbs down ratings, and wait 24 hours.
Hope this helps!
@AdamPandora Is it possible to just wait out the time for that function to return? The thumbs downs are tracks I don't want to play on that station; not just songs I don't feel like listening to at the time.
Also, are there other ways to fine tune a station so that different music types don't show up?
I have other stations for music that I listen to on the regular, I even made a new station for a style of song I didn't realize I would like so much so I could thumbs them up there and down on the Shanties station.
I appreciate the clarification above, it is what I had read elsewhere in the community, but it's always nice to know it's the same thing I'm looking at.
@BSOM180 You can wait up to 24 hours to see if the mode option appears again - if it does not, I recommend removing some of the thumbs down ratings you gave as that should help.
As far as other options go, you may consider upgrading to Pandora Premium.
With Pandora Premium, you have the ability to create customized playlists where you can pick and choose the exact songs you want to hear during your listening session.
For more information on Pandora Premium, check out this page here.
Thanks for being a part of the Community!
@AdamPandora I currently have Pandora Premium thankfully, but I haven't used the playlists yet. I'll poke around at it, and if nothing else I can pick out all the songs I've found so far and use that as a new starting point for discovery.
Thank you again for the advice, and I'm glad to have located the community section 🙂
Always happy to help, @BSOM180.
Hope we continue to see you around the Community some more!
