Thumbprint station only playing from two stations

My Thumbprint station only plays songs related to two of my stations. It has been doing this for some time now. I found another post that said it happened to them every three months or so and it only ever resolved itself after making a post about it here. There was no further information about steps to take, so I am making a post here to see if it can't get resolved.

If there is any steps I can take on my end to stop this in the future, I would appreciate knowing them.

Thanks!

@tstevick Sorry to hear your Thumbprint Radio station is becoming repetitive. I do have some suggestions that may help.

If you don't have many stations, you may want to create more stations and give more thumbs up, to give Thumbprint more feedback to work with.

Be sure to thumb freely on Thumbprint Radio; this will help us learn which thumbs you want to hear more of, and which you aren't interested in anymore. Thumbing a track up or down on Thumbprint Radio won't affect its thumb rating elsewhere. Just like your other stations, if you thumb up a track, you'll continue to hear it and tracks like it, and if you thumb it down, it won't play again on Thumbprint Radio. You can always remove the thumbs down later if you want to bring the track back into rotation on Thumbprint.

You can also use the I'm tired of this track/song feature for tracks that you still enjoy, but don't want to hear again for a while. To find this feature on mobile, tap the album art of the currently playing track, then the three dots on the right. From a computer, click the ellipses near the album art to reveal the option.

I hope this is helpful.

(I replied to the email that Pandora sent me with this information, but I wanted to put it here as well, in case it helps)

Hello,

I appreciate your advice. However, I am well aware of how Pandora is SUPPOSED to work. I sometimes find that, in spite of MANY thumbs up on specific stations, it tends to play the same small handful, but I am exploring ways to make that work.

My issue is that the thumbprint radio is playing now HUNDREDS of songs that are clearly inspired by a single station with only ever a single song interruption from a second station. I have several stations with distinct music as their basis. There is no chance it is playing from multiple stations only I am confusing them for just one.

Part of why this has been so annoying to me is that the station the thumbprint station is drawing from is the one station that I do NOT want played on that station. I use that station for work and it is very different than music I want to listen to in other contexts. I have not thumbs downed any music from other stations (other than ones I genuinely did not want to listen to). I have now thumbsed down more than 500 tracks from this one station that I do not want to have come up. Most of those have come from the last week when I have tacked this issue more aggressively.

Can you either find out what the glitch is on your end or give me instruction (beyond normal Pandora operation) that I can do on my end to clear up the glitch. It is clearly a glitch because this is neither how Pandora is meant to perform (based on other information and your response), nor how it HAS performed in the past.

In other words, your response is not, in fact, helpful (though I am sure it was a reasonable first response), and I need a deeper response or different action.
