Premium subscriber since 2023. Typically use Pandora app on Apple TV 4K at home, choosing among play zones on my Sonos whole house system. I stream Pandora in my vehicles by bluetooth connection with the app on my iPhone.
I notice significant differences in Pandora app functionality on the Apple TV 4K versus the iphone, particularly things like availability of modes. Hove not found a good overview of the various systems. Also, even after a couple years of usage I’m still confused as to how the thumbs up/down works across channels and the different app versions (iphone/appleTV). I most frequently either use the Shuffle Stations setting or the My Thumbs Up channel but I’ve also made a number of artist stations so I could thumb up specific songs. It seems these don’t (or at least not always) transfer to the shuffle or thumbs up channels. Would be helpful to understand if there is a limit to number of stations and/or thumbs ups allowed a user, and how thumbs up work across stations. Thanks for any clarification.
@KevinC56 With my little bit of research regarding this same topic here is what I found and so I will share it with you to see if this helps you as it did for me...
Station-Specific: Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down are specific to each station. This means that giving a song a Thumbs Up on one station will not affect other stations, Similarly, a Thumbs Down on one station won't impact other stations.
Modes: Thumbs Up works differently depending on the mode you're in. For example, in "Crowd Faves" mode, Thumbs Up will play more popular music, while in "Discovery" mode, it will introduce musically different tracks.
Editing Thumbs: You can edit Thumbs during your current listening session or from the station's backstage page. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to view all your Thumbs Down across stations in one place.
Stations: There isn't a strict limit on the number of stations you can create, but there might be practical limits based on the app's performance and usability.
Thumbs: There isn't a specific limit on the number of Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down you can give, but keep in mind that each Thumbs action is station-specific.
Shuffle Stations: Stations and Thumbs Up/Down might not always transfer seamlessly to Shuffle Stations or Thumbs Up channels because these features are designed to personalize your listening experience based on your interactions with individual stations.
Have a blessed day take care and GOD bless...

Thank you very much for that info MOHLovesAlaska! It pretty much tracks with and confirms much of what I’ve gleaned from a couple year’s usage.
If I understand the app functionality correctly, shouldn’t at least the My Thumbs Up playlist include all the songs that I’ve thumbed up on all the other various stations/playlists? My overall strategy to date has been to add artist stations and then use thumbs up to get songs from those those added to the My Thumbs Up playlist. Not sure that this has worked all that well, but I can’t easily compare the listings.
I also note that sometimes an artist is listed as a station and at other times as a playlist in my account. I’m not clear why that occurs as it seems to me I’ve consistently used the same method in setting up stations and then using thumbs up on those stations to ID preferred songs. More recently I began listening to shuffle on my Apple TV and thumbing up songs there as it seems to play much of the tagged music from my various stations mixed in with some similar untagged songs from those artists. I’ve been using thumbs up on shuffle hoping that any songs I don’t already have tagged get added to My Thumbs Up (currently at 1378 songs). Not sure how well that is working. I do really wish the artist mode was available on each station, as it would greatly simplify the process of selecting favorite tracks by individual artists. There are also times when I prefer to just listen to my personal favorite tracks from a particular artist. Maybe there is a more efficient way to populate My Thumbs Up, but I haven’t found it. I realize I still have some confusion about creating and using collections/playlists/stations.
Overall, Pandora is still very much preferable to radio stations as I hate wasting time listening to commercials on either TV or Radio, but I do wish it were easier to customize. I switched from Sirius because I want to listen to the music I choose (mostly 70’s, with some 80’s, 90’s and a little bit of 2000’s) rather than what someone else chooses. In addition to their high cost, and although they tout their service as ad-free, Sirius has the bad habit of inserting ads for their other radio channels into whatever channel you are listening to. If I wanted to be listening to the other channel, I’m capable of scrolling through channel listings by myself and if I wanted to be listening to another channel ’d have switched to it…
Anyway, thanks again!
@KevinC56 I have created a Playlist from my favorite music artist (Jewel) from her station, but what I did was add not just similar artists to her station but artists that have much of the same genre as well... For example, if you were to look at Jewel you would see Sheryl Crow and Alanis Morissette as similar artists, but you wouldn't see Blues Traveler or David Kushner... That is one of the great features that I love about modifying artists' stations... I also love playing the shuffle mode on my thumbs-up as well... Anyway, hope you have a great evening... Take care and GOD bless...
