Dish devices - Playback stops

Help Please,

Just recently my LG TV with a Wireless Joey when Playing Pandora stops after one song. It has for years ran fine. My other TV which is wired runs Pandora fine. I signed off and turned the TV and signed on Pandora. The problem still exists.

Not sure why this can't be solved by either Dish (who promotes the Pandora app being available on Dish) or Pandora (who promotes their app being available on Dish) since we all pay good money to both Dish and Pandora for this service! 

Also not sure why the moderators of this site can't keep us updated about this issue which I asked about three days ago.

I think the R&D from dish has come to a stop, people are going to streaming. I shut my dish off yesterday for that reason.

I have the same Dish Hopper with Sling with the Pandora app (free account) and songs will start then skip to almost the end of the song, but the progress bar is showing a low percentage of play. This is very annoying. I have Googled this issue and some others note it happens on songs longer than 5 minutes. I also have a wifi extender near my LG smart tv. I have Cox Panoramic wifi Gateway.

I don't have this issue on my iPhone 12 while riding my bicycle.

Please advise.

Lots of chatter, NO solutions.  This problem goes back to 2003!! It has been reported dozens of times, and Pandora refuses to design a fix..they just don't care!

There's a glitch in the system. Looks likr the bean counters would take note, they're losing money.

Here's the simple solution that I found...

Just add an Amazon Fire TV Stick to your TV...works flawlessly for Pandora, YouTube and many other apps 😁

I am also having a problem with Pandora not playing past the first song on my Joey.  I've tried all the suggested troubleshooting steps suggested.   I tried troubleshooting the devices with DISH.  While on phone with DISH I found my internet connection, and DISH componets were functioning properly.   What is next?

Buy a Fire stick from Amazon...works flawlessly and cheap too. You'll just need to have an input on your receiver from the TV to get it to your sound system. Of course that depends on your system and how it's set up.

@cinehd I can relate to how frustrating that is, especially when it worked perfectly for years and suddenly stops after one song. It might be worth checking for a software update on both the Wireless Joey and the LG TV, then restarting the Dish receiver and reconnecting Pandora. I also found some helpful troubleshooting tips on cinehd that cover similar playback issues, so hopefully one of those steps gets everything working normally again. Good luck!

I gave up on Pandora through Dish years ago and bought a couple of Fire Sticks from Amazon, back in 2023, and haven't had any issues...just read my last three posts. You just need to make sure that your TV audio output will play through your audio system directly (through another input on your receiver/amplifier), then turn your TV & audio system, select the Fire Stick input (where ever you plug it in...HDMI 2, HDMI 3, etc.) on your TV, then select the TV input on your receiver/amplifier and you're good to go...of course it depends on how your system is layed out but you'll figure it out.
Also note that not only does Pandora work flawlessly through the Fire Stick, so does Netflix...and if you don't already have a smart TV, you will now 😁
