Sound goes off after about five minutes and returns with the touch of any button on the remote. Vizio and insignia both do exactly the same.

Can you confirm if the Pandora app is found directly on the TVs or is there another device connected, such as cable box?
When the sound goes off, does the player appear to stop as well, or continues to move forward?
In the meantime, for your Vizio, let's try the following troubleshooting steps:
First make sure that your device has the latest firmware by checking for a new update. If an update is available, try loading Pandora again once the update is complete.
