It looks like these advertisements are getting triggered when you attempt to stream on demand content.
Since the ability to stream content on demand is only an option with Pandora Premium, you will first need to watch an ad in order to do so with your Pandora Plus subscription.

I have Pandora plus but when I try to listen to an individual song for my kid, it still plays ads throughout. I'd like to play a specific song without ads, and understood this to be included under Plus. It is beyond frustrating to calm a disgruntled child while driving when they just want to listen to a song with these ads.

I upgraded our account to play in our restaurant without ads. Everything was fine until the "trial" ended. Today my FOH manager called me because it kept playing "upgrade to premium" ad and then cutting off saying someone else was listening...which was not the case. Please advise, and let me know how to fix this or I will cancel and switch services.

Please keep in mind, Pandora accounts follow the email address, not the device or phone number. You can sign into the same Pandora account on any computer or supported device, as long as you use the same email address and Pandora password. This applies to both free and paid Pandora accounts.
At this time, I do see that you're upgraded to Pandora Plus. Could you share a bit more about what is happening?

Looks like you were previously upgraded to Pandora Plus but I do see that you enabled free sessions of Premium Access, which allows you to interact with an advertisement in order to listen to content on-demand. Accessing on-demand content with Pandora is only a feature of Premium. However, I do see that you've recently upgraded to Premium. That being said, you won't encounter these ads if you want to listen to content on-demand.

Premium Access:
In the past, free listeners and Pandora Plus subscribers were only able to look for artists and tracks in order to create radio stations.
We've updated your experience so that you have the ability to listen to content on-demand, without being a Pandora Premium subscriber.
If you search for and select the name of an artist, or track, or album, you should be brought to a "backstage page" where you can either create a radio station or press play.
If you press play you indicate that you'd like to listen to that content right away (or "on-demand"). Since only Pandora Premium subscribers can listen on-demand, you will either see an ad for Pandora Premium, or be prompted to watch a video ad to unlock a complimentary session of Pandora Premium.

I just paid for Pandora Plus today and i am getting the message i need Premium.
Does that mean i got to sign up for Premium and pay another $10.00
If so what happens to the $5.00 i already paid and do i have to call in and cancel the Pandora Plus subscription first.

How to upgrade to Pandora Premium:
Upgrading to Pandora Premium is completely optional. However, if you are looking for a way to stream content on demand, then I would recommend doing so.
To upgrade to Pandora Premium on your Android device:
Please note: If you upgrade directly through Google Play, you will immediately be transitioned into Premium, and the unused portion of your current Plus subscription will be applied to that cost. Once you've used up the remaining value of your most recent Plus payment, you will be charged for your first month of Premium.
