iOS: Playback doesn't resume after phone call

I get about 100 phone calls a day and let them all go to voicemail. I play music while I work through a Bluetooth Stereo system and after every missed call the music stops and doesn’t resume unless you physically go to the phone unlock it and push play again. I have tried all the settings I can find on the Iphone and have contacted Apple  several times. One time I was on the phone with Apple and I deleted the app and that fixed the problem, but then once the phone updated that no longer fixes the problem. Also, every time you delete the app and reinstall it it deletes your downloaded playlist music for off-line listening, I use downloaded music when I’m working somewhere with no phone signal. There needs to be some kind of solution or I just think Pandora is just going to lose subscription services. I’m using iPhone 16 Pro. I’ve tried to come up with other solutions like turning on my hotspot and running an older iPhone to play pandora music, But that is a hassle using two phones and keeping them both charged.

Hi @Ryanbobb , thanks for posting!

Sorry for the trouble. Can you tell me more about that's happening?

Does it only stop when connected through Bluetooth? Or does it stop when you listen directly form the phone?

And to clarify, does it stops only when you are offline but not when you are connected to either Wi-Fi or mobile data? Or when you are listening online too?

Let me know!

I’ve had that happen too—calls kill the music and it won’t restart unless you unlock. It’s frustrating, especially when you rely on offline playlists. I ended up testing a workaround using a second device for calls, similar to how I’ve seen setups with a cloud auto dialer handle multiple lines without breaking audio streams.

Hi @Tanyanunah , thanks for posting about your experience with this!

Is this happening when connected to your car stereo or to other devices through Bluetooth?

Also is this happening only with calls or does it also happens when interacting with Siri?

Let me know!
