The current solution that appears to be working is to cancel your Pandora subscription. Then, go into app settings. Delete cache and data, then delete the Pandora app from your device. I'm glad it worked for you. I wonder if you were having a different problem (seeing as they've merged different complaints here previously). For me, if i used Pandora and then closed the app, it would reopen a short time later, starting it was playing "unknown by unknown". It was happening to me on 3 different phones. I attempted the same as you, hiding the notification. Hiding the notification does indeed get rid of it, but not the deeper problem. you'll continue to have your battery get sucked dry as the app runs now hidden in the  background ... View more

Alyssa, you've merged two different issues. One is Pandora playing music out loud, the other is Pandora playing "unknown" without music being heard and eating battery. I'm leery of these two separate issues being merged because they seem different. I worry that if the prior one is"fixed", then both issues will be closed out. I tried the proposed solution of turning off that notification. It works, but now i can't use Pandora via notifications anymore at all. So definitely not a perfect solution ++ Ok, i just got a system notification pop-up that Pandora is still using battery. So silencing the notification absolutely does NOT fix the problem. I have the same problem. I have done all the above steps. I have contacted Pandora developers and sent screen shot previously. I just updated. I uninstalled and reinstalled(again) with clearing cache and data. Still having the issue ... View more
