The fix was released to the Google Play Store on 09/27. It is being rolled out in stages. I got it Saturday night. Fixes the random playing issue, but Pandora still shows up as running in the background when phone is restarted. Kind of annoying, but it is no longer auto playing. I still have to force close the app to prevent it from running in the background and showing up in notification pull down.Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

I opened a support ticket with them and asked for updates from the developers and an ETR. (Estimated time to resolution). I got a response that they are investigating, but have no idea when they will fix it. It is a bug in the app for the latest version and doesn't matter what what carrier you have, Android model, or even Android OS version. (Saw a lot of reports for version 13 & 12 which are the last 2 most recent OS versions) pandora-support@pandora.com is the email address to open a ticket. If everyone does this, they might get to a resolution faster or allow us to downgrade our app version in the meantime.Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

Yes, removed in the last update, especially if you use Android Auto.

Just so you know, the standard troubleshooting steps for Android don't apply to this issue. It is clearly a catastrophic bug in your app. Please stop responding to people with these steps as it just clutters up the messages. Also, don't mark messages as solved since they aren't. I know it is wishful thinking on your part to falsely let people know that this is a solution when there isn't. How about responding with an update on your developers progress on fixing this bug? It should be fixed ASAP before all of us just uninstall the app and use Amazon or Spotify instead.Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone
Clueless support. Yes, your app launches on any restart of our phones or when it is powered off and back on. No launching of the app, it just starts playing by itself. Unless you do a force stop on the application in settings, it will randomly just play by itself several times a day. Even if you you close the app and background process, it starts itself. If you do a force stop, it goes away until the next restart or valid opening of the app. It really screws up Android Auto as well since it kick-starts it again to auto launch after you leave the car. So, you have to do a force stop every time you are in and out of the car.Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

I am seeing this issue since the last app update on 08/31. Pandora just starts playing automatically during the day and especially when I restart my phone or power it on. Even though I close it out, it starts on its own and continues to keep starting and running in the background. I have checked all settings and the only way to stop it is to force close the app. I have cleared the cache and all data with no success. I have removed the app entirely, restarted my phone and installed it clean. No success. My wife has the same phone and hers is doing it too. The only way to stop it, is to uninstall the app which is really frustrating since I use this all the time. I just don't want it to play automatically and randomly. I also have noticed that the app always remains running in the background even when I close it. I have to do a force stop to get it to stop running in the background even though I have disabled this option for the app. This is clearly a bug that needs to be addressed ASAP. Device Model- Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Carrier- Verizon Android Version- 13 Pandora Version- 2308.1 Date/Time- Started happening on 08/31 and in the last week has gotten worse.
