Ctedder, This problem has been ongoing for almost 2 decades.  Pandora has been aware of this issue the entire time, as I've  complained several times back in the days when your could call and talk to somebody -for my efforts I and got a snotty answer.  Pandora isn't going to fix it.  Instead of getting a snotty answer, we now get a person who asks you to jump through hoops with screenshots and emails.   I'm a senior citizen, I don't do screen shots and whatnot, but also realize that's Pandora admitting that their algorithms and genomes are an advertising gimmick and has been since that way the very beginning.  The intrusive junk we're all receiving on our stations is proof.  We're all wasting our time. That's WAY too much work to be a Pandora customer.   I've got a better idea.  Next to your "Seeds" install a "Weed Killer" function.    This way one can delete for eternity an entire genre of music (Barbershop Quartet, Rap, whatever; and even specific "artists".) and be done with them forever.  There's NO way that obscene, loud screaming rap music in different languages should EVER bleed over onto any other station.  The "genome" is on crack.   One would also think that once a customer had down thumbed a specific type of music, like Barbershop Quartet, over 1000 times, the "genome" would get the hint.  I've been doing this as long as I've had a Pandora account.  If I had to guess, I suspect that some former disgruntled employee fudged your algorithm before they quit.  It's that bad. ... I think you have a "Seeds" function to add groups or types of music to your play list? How hard would it be to add a "Weed Killer" feature to eliminate entire unwanted genres of noise?  I suspect that this feature would be VERY popular. Maybe even make it specific to an unwanted musician or group.   The Thumbs Down function is basically useless.  So the customer is stuck with listening to the unwanted trash forced upon them by the mindless "genome". I'm sure that many of your customers intensely dislike the music I listen to, and they shouldn't have to even know it exists, and Pandora certainly shouldn't force my music onto them if they don't want it. Pandora was established on the concept that the listener could curate and develop their own music stations to fit their tastes and preferences.  But in reality this is a myth, with the "genome" constantly shoving garbage (subjectively speaking) on you that you don't want to hear, much less hear over and over and over and over and over again. I detest Barbershop Quartet Music. I have been down thumbing it for DECADES, but I still frequently (sometimes several a day) suffer it on my Mark Knopfler/Emmylou Harris Channel.  Thumbs down does nothing. Pandora's "algorithm" is fictitious.  Seriously, Barbershop Quartet music should only be broadcast by specific demand, in writing. FYI, Back was Pandora was new, I once had a paid Pandora subscription.  The Barbershop Quartet issue presented itself on day one.  Halfway through my subscription I called Pandora customer service, back when you could do that, and got a disinterested young man who said to thumbs down a few Barbershop tracks and it'll stop. A couple of weeks later I called again and got the same young man.  I informed him that the Barbershop noise was still playing, sometimes a couple an hour.  He said that was impossible, because of Pandora's magical "algorithm".  We went around about how the "algorithm" didn't work. According to him it was flawless. I politely explained that I wasn't going to pay to hear Barbershop music, and if it wasn't a fixable problem, I wasn't going to renew my subscription, it was that simple. He accused me of "making threats" and refused to let me speak to a supervisor.  Not only that, but the Barbershop "somehow" became more frequent. I didn't renew.  Despite giving the thumbs down to every Barbershop Quartet song ever recorded , I still get them.  I got another yesterday,  but Barbershop has been steadily replaced by Gangster Rap in several languages.   There SHOULD be a way to flat out delete or ban an entire unwanted genre of noise from a Pandora users feed.  Pandora shouldn't be a forced music appreciation experience.  People want to hear what they want to hear and the thumbs down feature is useless.
