@AdamPandora I cant find my original post anymore about Christian music on my EDM station. I think @TannerPandora had moved it to some thread which is now archived and I cannot see. At any rate I wanted to let you all know what I discovered. The station was originally called "Electronic", and featured the song unbroken by sierra. If you look this up its from the album "Gone". There appears to be a different group called sierra where this artist has been incorrectly categorized/merged. Here is the album: You can see it is associated with this artists albums here: If you listen to the tracks from other "Sierra" albums it quickly becomes apparent these are not the same artists. MQA is not higher quality than flac. It's a meme they've pushed on the industry and should be avoided. Multiple people have analyzed the output to find compression artifacts. Artifacts flac does not have. Adding bit depth and sample rate doesn't make up for this.   If you want to support the scam, that's your prerogative. Arguing about price is silly because most of use have agreed we would pay more anyway. Arguing the current quality is good enough is silly because this is entirely dependent on external factors like hearing ability, music of choice, and the listening device. The platform itself is a music discovery tool for me. I give Pandora nothing, not even ad revenue. They can't do anything about it. Anything I find that I like I immediately buy on Bandcamp or the actual CD if it's not there, then rip to flac for playback on my own personal streaming service. I would happily give Pandora money for their service but they don't deserve it. Other services don't offer a similar enough system IMO, though the genome system is not perfect either... It's just the least worst.   It's clear however they don't care and won't update it based on the complete radio silence from anyone at Pandora. I have just been buying music from bandcamp. Hard to beat their platform as you get DRM free FLAC files. When it comes to streaming I use my personal internet connection to serve up my library via Jellyfin. This route isnt for everyone, but it doesnt compromise on freedom and quality. Others have bought into Tidal. That may give you decent quality but is neither lossless nor free from nonsense. Them pushing the whole MQA snake oil keeps me away forever. Tidal peddles that MQA nonsense. It's a shame honestly. If you want lossless, MQA isn't. Just another proprietary codec pushing itself on the industry by whatever means necessary. I can't support that. Pandora premium would be a no-brainer for me if it were simply 16bit 44.1/48khz flac streams. Even an equivalent to 320kbps mp3 would be more than adequate for most of my listening, and probably many others. I spent nearly $200 on an IEM setup, $6000 on the system in my car, and countless thousands on home audio equipment, not to mention cds and digital content on Bandcamp just to have the best experience I can for the music I listen to. I really dont understand why there cant be another tier of quality unless they simply dont have the source quality to serve that to begin with. This could be the case I suspect, but it would be a terrible oversight if true. I dont see any reason or harm in a higher tier, perhaps in the $15 area, that satisfies the market of people who enjoy nicer quality. I can tell a difference between local flac on my phone and pandora in my car even. Theres no soundstage, the highs are rolled off such that it lacks clarity, and details are harder to hear. Even youtube on 1080p with their VP9 codec has better quality. It boggles the mind no one seems to be listening. ... View more
