It is a lot easier to do from my phone than on the computer. On the phone the edit pencil appears - scroll down to "+Add Variety" - when you click on that you can select from suggestions or search for the artist you want

This happened to me as well. The only solution was to "reset" my account by changing to an email I don't use, logout then sign up with my original email. Now I have a fresh account.
