Very much on this page. I’ve been paying specifically for the value of the original Music Genome engine / “algorithm,” and at this point I am not only not getting as much of that value; I’m having to constantly use thumbs-down to “correct mistakes” of the type explained above, which I don’t think the old algorithm made nearly as frequently. I was just told by a chat representative that thumbs do not affect Pandora’s behavior between/across stations, but that seems to be happening lately. I am constantly getting songs that are not musically similar to my current station (ie don’t seem to fit based on the old Music Genome behavior), but rather are songs I have recently thumbed-up on my other stations. As time goes on, I am beginning to suspect that the Pandora algorithm is constantly trying to push me off of the sound I am trying to create for my station and push me into a pre-canned genre. I almost never consistently get new songs that are appropriate for my station, and instead appear to get hammered with standard genre selections that are somehow mysteriously tied to my seed songs or thumbs-ups.
