Thanks for sharing, @Ash_tonClinesA. Spike is new to me but looks like a cool approach to inbox management using AI. Hope to see you around the Creators space more often! ![]()
These are great, @thadfiscella! I agree on the need to remove distractions when creating - they simply prevent you from getting into a rhythm.
One thing I do to help me create/make progress on my music, is recognize when I momentum and do not stop until I hit a wall. When that special moment hits and new ideas are just flowing, I ride the waves as a long as I can and do not get up/look at my phone/get a snack/etc. A lot of ground can get covered in this heightened state and I try to stay in it as long as I can.
There are too many distractions, particularly when you have a home studio, so seizing that exciting moment of creative momentum and not stopping until that well runs dry is big part of my writing approach.
All good points. I like to take a shower and make a cup of coffee 😄 For whatever reason that ritual tends to help me get into a deep flow state. Also, creative constraints can be helpful - for example, limiting the number of presets/samples/tools I use initially to see how far I can get before doing a deeper dive into sound selection, processing, etc. keeps my brain from getting overwhelmed by the endless possibilities when starting a new song.
