Greetings and welcome to the Pandora for Creators Community! This is a space to learn about AMP tools, connect with other creators and get support.

My name is Chris and I am one of the Moderators and a Lead Support Specialist on the AMP team 🙂

If you are new to Pandora for Creators, please introduce yourself! You can feel free to include:

• A link to your music and/or podcast on Pandora
• An artist that inspires you
• Your favorite AMP tool

I’m happy to kick this off!

Here is a link to my band on Pandora.

David Byrne is an artist who truly inspires me. I was fortunate enough to see him perform a few years ago and marveled at how he was able to reimagine songs I’ve heard a million times to sound fresh & exciting with new live arrangements.

The AMP tool I think is special is Artist Audio Messages. It is such a unique way to connect with your audience that can only be found on Pandora.

Once again, welcome and don’t feel shy!

Hi all. This is the first time I followed through with getting my music on Pandora. This is for those who may be looking for independent music to listen to.

My music stretches across genres: my last three albums in chronological order are progressive art pop, minimal contemporary classical piano, and tribal trip hop beats. If you are interested in any of these, you can find my music on streaming services and Bandcamp under the name Casimirs Telos. I will also attach links below to the *** pages.

Casimirs Telos

All of these I recorded and mixed myself, with the exception of the piano. That was recorded at a studio over the span of a four hour session, and I mixed it during the following two month period.

I have one more release pending, a set of nine songs that fit together lyrically and sonically.

Very eager to hear if you have any questions about my music. Also feel free to link your own music, I will do my best to listen to every response.

Hey y'all Jake A Andrew,

I have had a heck of a time in my home state. Even getting a chance to play live! Mainly cause of two kinds of people! The highly jealous and foolish people! Then the elderly arrogant people who think some how I should have that chance cause they didn't choose it for themselves or God never handed it to them! Which again not my problem! Any others out there feeling that?

It's a long story to type so to keep your interest I'll stop there y'all can listen to my songs and we'll talk later!

Thanks

Hi @DashOfMadness Welcome to our Community and thanks for sharing this with us.

I know exactly what it’s like to be surrounded by envious people, but I’m glad you’re seeing the upside of the situation—in this case, treating it as a challenge.

Besides, I believe haters can actually be your biggest admirers, even if they won't admit it. 😎

Could you please confirm your artist name and your recommended songs so we can listen to them?

Looking forward to your reply.

Dakota Keith Carter's music is a stark portrait of a life marked by struggle. Raised in a trailer park in Grant County, Kentucky, his early years were defined by the trauma of his brother's ****** addiction and seeing their home burn to the ground. For years, he navigated high school without electricity or running water, cooking on a kerosene heater and relying on friends for basic needs. The emotional toll continued after he saw his father get ****** in the head at 18, leading him back to Kentucky, where he eventually dropped out of high school and faced his own addiction battles. He then found love with his brother's baby mama, but after asking his brother's permission, he felt the strain on their relationship grow, so they broke up. Later he fell in love with Cara Lydia Michelle Pagliaro, who became pregnant. They experienced extreme poverty, living in a closet small enough to fit a mattress in, before moving to Murray, Kentucky, for a better life with their baby. But then he caught her cheating, which led him to start rapping as a way to process the pain. He had rapped on and off since 2012, but this heartbreak really pushed him towards it. He found Levi Bloom on TikTok, and was invited to rap on stage at a show, which was a turning point for him. He returned to Florence, Kentucky, and started to build his career, discovering a real talent within him.Just as he was finding his sound, he was caught up in a traffic case while driving a friend's car when police found **** ************ that wasn't his. He received a three-year sentence for **** possession. Yet, through all of this, he's stayed humble, and is now determined to pour every ounce of energy into making it in the music industry. Marketing isn't really his strength, but he believes that consistency, dedication, and the time he's putting in will eventually get him noticed. He feels he puts in more work than most people, and that's why he'll break through. It's a story of resilience and hope.

 The Dakota Keith Carter Story
This piece is a creative nonfiction biographical narrative. It explores the intersections of a working-class rural upbringing, a deep-rooted musical family lineage, and the intense personal trials of addiction, legal battles, and family tragedy. It details my journey from a rough childhood in Grant County, Kentucky, to surviving homelessness in a tent while working two jobs, and fighting through a relapse that strained my family. It also captures the heavy burden of fighting a wrongful paraphernalia charge from a borrowed car, the trauma of my father surviving a gunshot wound to the head, and my current focus on earning my GED and writing music while incarcerated.
Ultimately, this is a story of resilience, redemption, and the unwavering belief that dedication to one's dreams can overcome the darkest circumstances. The love for my daughter and her mother continues to drive me to prove everyone wrong.
This work is entirely original and is not currently published elsewhere. Because I do not have regular access to digital tools, physical mail is my only method of communication. I look forward to your response.
Thank you for your time, your dedication to independent voices, and your consideration of my work.
Sincerely,

Submission Text: The Verse of the Valley: The Dakota Keith Carter Story
Dakota Keith Carter is a musician from Northern Kentucky whose life story is deeply rooted in the working-class rhythm and harsh realities of his home state. Born in Edgewood and raised largely in Grant County, his early life was shaped by constant travel across the region. His father, a flooring installer for Carpetland, took Dakota with him on jobs, introducing him to all walks of life across Northern Kentucky.
Music was a constant presence in his upbringing. He grew up listening to his uncles make music—Hubert Van Carter ran a home studio, while Uncle Dwight sang. His father would play the harmonica and sing him to sleep with "Curtis Lowe" and Marine Corps cadences from his time in the Second Force Recon.
Today, Dakota is channeling that rich, local upbringing and a series of heavy personal trials into a career as an independent music artist under the persona KotaDiarys.

The Rhythm of the Road and a Rough Start
The hum of the road was the first instrument Dakota ever truly knew. Sitting in the passenger seat of his dad’s work truck, the landscape of Northern Kentucky blurred past the window—rolling hills, quiet small towns, and bustling job sites. His father was a flooring installer, a man who worked with his hands, and every town they visited meant meeting a new group of people.
Dakota didn't just watch the world pass by; he listened. He absorbed the accents, the complaints, the laughter, and the resilience of the people his father did business with. This diverse mix of encounters became the foundation for his perspective on life. Yet underneath the music and the travel, Dakota navigated a rough, turbulent childhood in Grant County long before his own musical ambitions ever fully took hold.

A House Built on Harmony
When the tools were put away for the weekend, the Carter family home transformed into a sanctuary of sound. Dakota’s uncles were deeply passionate about music. He spent hours watching his Uncle Hubert piece together tracks in a makeshift home studio, while Uncle Dwight provided the vocals.
The most defining sounds of his childhood, however, were much more intimate. Every night, his father would sit by his bed. The air would fill with the reedy, soulful wail of a harmonica, followed by his father singing the classic blues ballad "Curtis Lowe." Mixed into those nightly lullabies were the sharp, disciplined cadences his father carried home from his days in the Marines. It was an unusual mix of military precision and deep-South blues, embedding itself permanently into Dakota's memory.

Love, Survival, and Falling Apart
The turning point came when Dakota met Cara in Richwood. Seeking a fresh start, they moved out to Murray, Kentucky, where they had to fight just to survive. In the beginning, they lived completely exposed to the elements in a tent. Dakota pushed himself to the limit, working two grueling jobs simultaneously just to earn enough to finally land them a trailer.
But even with a hard-won roof over his head, the stability did not last. Dakota's life began falling apart as he relapsed, turning back to drinking and drugs. The addiction created a deep, painful rift between him and Cara. To protect his young daughter from the darkness of his reality, Dakota kept his struggles entirely hidden, suffering through his addiction in absolute silence. The emotional toll doubled when his heart was shattered upon discovering that Cara had cheated on him.

The Squeeze of the Law and Family Tragedy
Just as personal relationships crumbled, the outside world closed in. Dakota borrowed a friend's car to get around, unaware of what was hidden inside. The police pulled the vehicle over, and the law squeezed hardcore—busting Dakota for drug paraphernalia that didn't even belong to him. With the arrest came the terrifying threat of the state taking his daughter away, adding toxic fuel to an already raging fire.
During this exact era of chaos, tragedy struck the family in the most violent way possible. Dakota’s father was shot in the head, barely surviving the horrific incident. The trauma of his father's near-fatal shooting collided heavily with Dakota's legal battles, as he faced the weight of a system punishing him for a vehicle and contraband that weren't his.

Writing the Next Verse
Those early days on the road, nights of family blues, and the severe trials of the present have ultimately forged a fierce resolve. Now facing incarceration, Dakota refuses to let his vision die behind bars. He plans to write music the entire time he is incarcerated, use the time to earn his GED, and emerge from the system stronger than he entered.
His driving force remains entirely unchanged: the deep love he still holds for his daughter and her mother. He is using his confinement to push through the pain, determined to prove everyone wrong. Dakota is out to show the world that if you truly dedicate yourself to your dreams and visions, they can still come true, no matter how far you have fallen.
