Pandora Update 11/29/22:
Hi, everyone!
Pandora's Playback user year-in-review is no longer available. Thanks to all of the listeners who have supported the feature.
@AdamPandora I was curious if you knew when the Playback 22 would be ready for viewing.
When is pandora’s playback 2022?
Pandora Update 11/29/22:
Hi, everyone!
Pandora's Playback user year-in-review is no longer available. Thanks to all of the listeners who have supported the feature.
Why would they remove this feature?
NOOO I liked this feature! Sad to see it go.
Can we get an explanation for why? I’ve been looking forward to this all year and it might be the thing that makes me switch to Spotify
We need an explanation for why this feature is no longer available. From a business standpoint, this seems like a poor decision, Spotify wrapped is currently trending #1 on Twitter and is a huge deal culturally every year. Not providing a similar feature makes Pandora fall behind major competitors. Personally, I have been using Pandora for nearly 9 years and will be switching to Spotify even though it will cost me an extra $60/year solely to get this feature, it's that important to me and I'm sure many others feel the same.
Seems kinda of crappy to take that away. People look forward to seeing those, I know I do.
Hi! Will there be a feature similar to this or a way to see the numbers? If not, is there a way to request it? I definitely love staying with Pandora but having a fun feature like that is always something we look forward to.
Same, and I feel like alot of other people will too. I've already been looking to see if there are any alternatives to Pandora that have the same radio function. I want to stay with Pandora but they are so far behind in just about everything. The only thing they arent behind in is the there music genome project (the only thing Pandora is known for).
i dont know how to view my profile page but i guess if i post i can view my community page by clicking my name after posting (clicking my bubble up in the corner doesn't bring me to the same profile page as clicking user names)
in case this doesn't work... what i really wanna know is my listening time, top artists of all time, thumbs up/down, and all that good stuff.
thanks
Why would you get rid of this? I look forward to seeing my year in music reviewed. I love Pandora and have been a premium users for years now, but this may actually finally convince me to switch to a platform that does have this feature.
Getting rid of the playback is going to make you guys loose a lot of paying customers, myself included. I switched to Apple Music becuase they were cheaper, at the time I didn’t know you’d be cancelling the playback unless I would’ve made the switch at the beginning of the year.
You will lose a ton of subscribers over this choice. I was really looking forward to this, and have paid for pandora for many years. Will be switching to Spotify - which makes me sad as I love this app.
Judging off these comments, I’d add the feature before you lose all these costumers. Myself included. You guys were late to the game last year too.
Yeah, removing this feature is idiotic. We deserve a "why".
I love pandora. We have a family premium membership and I would hate to give that money to Spotify instead, as there are many things I DON’T want to support about them. I am confused, however, about why there is no Playback feature. Most of my friends use Spotify and post their Wrapped stats, and I enjoy seeing what they listened to. I want to be able to see those stats for myself, and share them. It cannot be that hard to code, so I am confused why you are missing this valuable marketing opportunity which would result in free advertising…
Wow - I have been a Pandora user since the beginning (over 15 years at this point) and am feeling similarly. I've defended Pandora over Spotify for years, but this seems like a really weird way to cheap out. It'll be REALLY annoying to rebuild over a decade of listening to a new platform, but I may have to just bite the bullet and cancel Pandora Premium to swap over to Spotify or Apple Music...
Wowwww that is really disappointing. What an interesting business decision. Hey our main competitor has a unique feature that generates TONS of interest and free publicity for them every year, let's make sure we discontinue our version of it. Pandora apparently hates making money? Good plan, seems really sustainable and intelligent.
I agree with the sentiment on this thread that doing away with a popular feature is a mistake. I saw friends posting their stats from that one other streaming service, and I wanted to get involved by showing some of my own stats. I've been a Pandora user for literally nearly twenty years. I'm bought into this system. I, along with countless others, enjoy reflecting on my listening habits to find trends and highlight notable music/artists to share with others.
Working on a tech community team, I have a suspicion that the person(s) who owned this feature have either left the company or have had their focus reassigned to another project internally. I urge the folks who work on this community space to present this thread in strategy meetings and demonstrate that user feedback is overwhelmingly negative. But I get how it goes. Sometimes there just aren't resources to support features that are popular. Here's hoping that decision changes.
