Finally back! No comment on my finals except for the fact that they honestly seemed pretty easy. Let's hope my grade reflects that haha. Getting right into it, Deep Fried Frenz is the longest song on the album and it kind of shows. The rhymes at a point kind of start to blend together, but the skit/ except is my favorite so far. The instrumental behind the song is one of my favorites so far. Next, Poo Putt Platter starts off with a very westerny saloon kind of vibe. Once I checked the song length I was very happy because this instrumental isn't my favorite. Next, we've got Fillet-O-Rapper. I really like this instrumental and the skit is really funny. The lady listening off the soul foods gets me all the time. Next, we've got Gumbo. Another super short song and the whistle in the background sounds kinda weird to me. Next, we've got Fig Leaf Bicarbonate. Finally a normal length song! The instrumental is my favorite so far but the background noise is kinda ruining it. Next, we've got Kon Karne. A weird instrumental that is carried by Dooms rhymes. Not many other comments on this and I honestly skipped it in the full listen thru. Next, we've got Guinnessez. Really cool sounding instrumental and I like the little guitar lick in the background. Everyone drops some really good bars in this song. We are back. I am going to rereview MM...FOOD. We start off with beef rapp, an interesting beat contrasted to the fun sounding skit/snippet in the beginning. I think the contrast does add to the style though of Doom's style. It's a relief when the verse finally comes in as the instrumental kind of got boring. As per usual in an MF Doom album the verses resemble spoken word and have incredible lyricism. The next song, Hoɛ Cakes has to be one of my favorite songs on the album. I think the way the Supersonic sample gets cut off and it's usually faster than Dooms flow is pretty funny. Great beat and absolutely amazing use of sampling! Potholderz wasn't my favorite and i really don't know why haha. BUT, the next song is most definitely the best off the album. One beer. Great track, good flow, awesome sample.
