Pandora on my Android phone will start playing on its own. Pandora starts playing while my phone sits on my desk or when I open my car door. I have to "Close All Apps" to prevent this from occurring. I see notifications on my phone saying that Pandora is launching, why?. I see posts on this matter from years ago and on previous versions. Pandora seems to be going nuts lately. This app is becoming a nuisance. Is there any documentation to tell me how to configure settings so that Pandora behaves consistently?

@MichaelER I'd be happy to help with any questions you have, but I will need additional information to do so.
Can you explain your issue a bit further?
To clarify, when this happens does music play with sound?
If music does not play, can you let us know the following info:
- Is the player notification for Pandora appearing but the app is not actually open in the background where it can be closed?
- Is the player notification for Pandora appearing and the app is opened in the background?
The more details you're able to provide, the better equipped I'll be to help.
I look forward to hearing back.

Pandora will start playing music randomly with sound. This will start while the phone is sitting on my desk, in my pocket, and in the car. Anytime that I pull down the screen to see background apps that are running, pandora is there. The only way the app closes is if I "Close all".
I have this suspicion that the app could be playing music without sound. There are times I will turn off the radio in the car while a song is playing and when I turn the radio back on, another song will play, and it appears that other songs have played since.
Why doesn't the app close completely and not run in the background if I close the app? I understand that it would pause when I am in and out of the car. But I do not use my phone to listen to Pandora when I am at home. Do I have to sign out of the app to get it to close completely?

Thanks for following up, @MichaelER.
I'd like to report your issue to our engineering team.
Does this happened after being connected in the Android Auto or a Bluetooth enabled device?
Also, can you send over a bit more info about your device?
- Model:
- Carrier:
- Android version (Settings > About Phone):
- Build number (Settings > About Phone):
- Android Security Patch Level, if noted on your device (Settings > About Phone):
- Pandora version:
- If you can open Pandora, go to Profile, then select Settings. Scroll to the bottom of the screen for the version number.
- If you can't open Pandora: from Android Home screen > Android Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Find Pandora
Are you connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data when this is happening?
Have you identified any other patterns or notable information?
Let me know what you can find out.

Android version: 11
Pandora version: 2411.1.3
Android tuner: 24111301
This behavior has stopped recently, although I have not changed any settings.

This was happening to me, as well, a couple of weeks ago on my Android phone. (See my posts.) This behavior stopped without me changing any settings. But Pandora continues to run in the background even though I close the app, sometimes I get a notification that "Pandora is starting", and I believe that Pandora continues to play songs after I shut off the radio in my car because when I return it has advanced several songs.

@MichaelER When Pandora is still running in the background, is it playing with sound?
Also, when you stream Pandora in your vehicle, are you connected via bluetooth?
Let me know.

Pandora would start randomly playing music on my phone sitting on my desk, in my pocket, and when I would open my car door. In my car it is on Bluetooth, at home it is on Wi-Fi.

Thanks for following up, @MichaelER.
It sounds like you are reporting two separate issues
- Pandora playing on its own with sound
- Can you please confirm if this is now resolved? I know you mentioned it hasn't occurred since initially reporting
- Pandora continues to run in the background even when the app is closed
- Can you please send me a screenshot of the "Pandora is starting" notification you mentioned seeing when this happens?
(Please note you won't be able to attach images via email - you will need to open this Community link in a web browser in order to provide attachments)
Thanks again for working with me on this.
