This was happening to me, as well, a couple of weeks ago on my Android phone. (See my posts.) This behavior stopped without me changing any settings. But Pandora continues to run in the background even though I close the app, sometimes I get a notification that "Pandora is starting", and I believe that Pandora continues to play songs after I shut off the radio in my car because when I return it has advanced several songs.

Pandora will start playing music randomly with sound. This will start while the phone is sitting on my desk, in my pocket, and in the car. Anytime that I pull down the screen to see background apps that are running, pandora is there. The only way the app closes is if I "Close all". I have this suspicion that the app could be playing music without sound. There are times I will turn off the radio in the car while a song is playing and when I turn the radio back on, another song will play, and it appears that other songs have played since. Why doesn't the app close completely and not run in the background if I close the app? I understand that it would pause when I am in and out of the car. But I do not use my phone to listen to Pandora when I am at home. Do I have to sign out of the app to get it to close completely?

Pandora on my Android phone will start playing on its own. Pandora starts playing while my phone sits on my desk or when I open my car door. I have to "Close All Apps" to prevent this from occurring. I see notifications on my phone saying that Pandora is launching, why?. I see posts on this matter from years ago and on previous versions. Pandora seems to be going nuts lately. This app is becoming a nuisance. Is there any documentation to tell me how to configure settings so that Pandora behaves consistently?

I cleared the data and the cache and logged back into Pandora. This did not fix the problem. Previously, Pandora would resume playing a paused song when I restarted the car and turned on the audio in my car. This last time it went straight to a specific station without resuming the paused song. I play Pandora at home through a Wiim music streaming amp without this problem.

When I play Pandora on the Android app in my car, I choose the shuffle option. Occasionally, the app would switch to a specific station when I started playing in the car. Now the app switches to a specific station all the time, even when I turn the car off and on at a stop. This requires that I reselect the shuffle option every time I get in the car. Did something change in the app or do I need to change a setting?

I spoke too soon. For a brief period of time today the shuffle through my collection seemed to go back to the expected behavior. Then, more and more unexpected artists and songs began playing. A few seemed somewhat related to my collection, most were completely unrelated. I started receiving songs from Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Adele, and Ed Sheeran which I do not have an interest in. I have repeatedly gotten the same songs, in the same order by Lily Adams (?), Al Jarreau, and Amy Winehouse. Some selections I actually find objectionable. (Not to disparage anyone's preferences.) I usually listen to Pandora whenever I am home but have turned it off as it is now so unpredictable and unenjoyable.

Yes, I will chime in on this as well. As of the day before Thanksgiving, the number of songs outside "My Collection" on shuffle dramatically increased. I will say that about 40% of the songs are outside the collection. In the past, I have welcomed the occasional "suggestions" and have found new artists and songs to add to the collection or favorite. Now it is overwhelming, and many suggestions are not even close to my tastes. I know that I can "thumb down" these suggestions but that will require an extensive effort. What gives?

I have an internet only connection with Xfinity. I do not have Xfinity equipment or use any Xfinity interface or application. So my traffic is straight IP. I think we would experience other Internet issues if Xfinity has a transport issue.

I am a 500+ hour user and his was my first post on this community board. I also exchanged a couple of e-mails with a support person about the problem but have not gotten a productive response. Does Pandora Support monitor this board and respond? Clearly, something changed at one point in time 10 days ago. Samsung TVs run the Tizen OS (not Android, Windows, iOS) so I believe that makes the Pandora application specific for Samsung devices. Was there a change to the application that created this issue?

Songs will complete and then repeat.. The transition is smooth and seemingly not glitchy. The image of the artist does not change as it does when a new song starts. I do not have this problem on my Windows computer or Echo device. My Samsung TV is hardwired to my Netgear Modem/Router. I have an Internet only connection with Xfinity. I run Pandora through the application on my smart TV and not channeled through Xfinity. My equipment is not two years old and show no indication of problems. Pandora has deleted my device and I reconfigured my connection on the smart TV. It took a few songs for the annoying behavior to return but it certainly did return. I noticed that the behavior of the application changed a few days ago. Previously, the last incomplete song played restarts at the beginning when logging back in. Now, the last incomplete song played continues from where it left off? Was there a change to the application that caused this issue?
